Laughter and many conversations filled the halls of the mansion. Billiam was hosting a party.

Hubert was standing by the wall, acting busy until someone needed him. He had a masquerade mask on to hide his face, but mostly his eyes (Author note: The mask is a full face one, as even his face is scarred. He wears it whenever they go out or even if anyone is at the mansion). If anyone asked about his very pale hair, he would simply tell them it's so light from working outside, the sun bleached it. The mask had mesh to cover the eye holes, Mark had helped him glue it in.

Speaking of the brunette, he was upstairs sleeping in Billiam's room. He had caught a cold and was resting. Billiam insisted that he stayed in bed and that him and the blonde would come lay with him after the guests had left.

Hubert was helping an older woman get some more wine. Her hands were far too shaky to pour it in the glass. He smiled politely at her afterwards before walking away. She was a kind woman to everyone except for who he used to be. Truth be told, everyone in this room hated who he was, back when he lived in the village. He hated these parties, he always had. It always felt like everyone was watching him, waiting for him to slip up and reveal who he was, just waiting for his mask to slip.

Billiam noticed the blonde was zoning out, it wasn't uncommon for either of the butlers to zone out, especially Hubert. This time was different though, he had a bad feeling. He smiled politely to the group he was talking to, "Excuse me, I'll be right back," he said politely as he walked towards the blonde. He grabbed his hand and pulled him into the kitchen.

Hubert kept touching his face to see if the mask was still there. His breathing was quick. He tried to ground himself with it. Billiam just held him close, "Ground yourself. It's just you and me in here. I don't know about your past, nor do I care who you were."Hubert's breathing slowly started to steady itself and he looked at Billiam, "T-thank you, I'm ready to go back now." Billiam nodded and they both returned to the party. As the night went on, Billiam kept a close eye on him. He knew there was something wrong, but he knew that Hubert wouldn't let him in, not yet at least. He just had to wait for Hubert to be ready.
