"Hello Miss Trunchbull," I said, feeling a weird bravery from the pit of my stomach.

"Oh deary deary dear Amanda," Miss Trunchbull said, smiling. "We have a no hat policy, unless it's your uniform hat. You dear, are going to chokey!"

All of the big kids gasped. They ran all the way over to our location.

"What's chokey?" I asked, searching for Hortensia in the group of kids.

Hortensia finally emerged out of the crowd.

"They say it's a cupboard in her office, lined with nails, and SPIKES, and bits of broken glass,"Hortensia said.

There was a weird look on Hortensia's face. I couldn't quite identify what emotion she was feeling.

"That can't be real!" I shouted, still feeling that random bravery. "I dare you to put me in there!"

Miss Trunchbull smiled an ugly smile. "Okay, Miss Revolting" she said, as she grabbed my arm.

Miss Truchbull tugged me along. Why hadn't Hortensia stood up for me? She stood there as my fate was sealed in a deadly cupboard. The bravery that I had once felt was beginning to fade.

We made it to the Trunchbull's office. She opened the door and threw me in. I screamed as my back hit some spikes. I tried to sit. It was just barely wide enough, but I managed to sit. Nails poked me in the behind. I found a little patch on the wall that was comfortable. I leaned against it and fell asleep.

I finally woke up. I didn't know how long I'd been asleep, or how long I'd even been in chokey. I felt sharp pain in my neck, and felt liquid pouring out of it.

"HEEEEEELP!" I screeched.

It sounded like I had said healp. I heard quiet footsteps approaching chokey. The footsteps weren't booming like Trunchbull's. These were quiet, strategic footsteps. Finally, the door opened. Matilda was looking at me. Her eyes looked worried. I immediately collapsed into her arms. There was blood all over me. That's when I realized what the liquid from my neck was.

"Amanda!" she said, in a shout-like whisper. "Are you alright?"

I nodded faintly. I was beginning to feel dizzy.

"How long was I-" the world went black.

I woke up on a desk in Miss Honey's classroom. My head was on a cushion, and her pink sweater was draped over me.

"Oh Amanda!" Miss Honey said, smiling.

"You were in chokey the whole weekend!" Matilda said, the worried look still present in her eyes. "You had passed out because of lack of blood. I called Miss Honey to help me get you in here."

"I was bleeding!?" I shouted.

"It's okay darling" Miss Honey said. "You're okay now."

"What about my parents?" I asked. "They would never believe in 'Chokey'"

"We have that taken care of, Amanda" Matilda assured me. "But the bus is about to leave for the day. You'd better get outside if you don't want to miss it. Remember, tutoring at your house tomorrow!"

I nodded. I went outside. Hortensia was just boarding the bus when I got out. I ran over to the bus and boarded. I sat next to Hortensia.

"Hi Ama-"

"Don't you 'Hi Amanda' me you traitor" I said, cutting her off. "I can't believe you! You just stood there as I was sent to chokey because of YOUR mistake"

"I can explain," Hortensia said, fidgeting with a ribbon in her hand. "The Trunchbull thinks that 5-6 year olds are the WORST maggots ever. She believes that the older you get, the better you become. She has different rules because we're the oldest in the school. We are allowed to wear basically whatever as long as we wear our uniform shirt and pants or skirt."

"Oh," I said. "I'm sorry"

"I don't know if I want to forgive you," Hortensia said, holding a smile back.

We both began laughing hysterically, which then turned into uncontrollable wheezes. The bus finally stopped at my house. I hugged Hortensia and leapt off of the top step of the bus. I opened the door. My mum came running towards me.

"My little princess," My mum said, squeezing me and kissing my cheek over and over. "How was your sleepover?"

"My what?" I asked, confused.

"Your sleepover with the Matilda girl," my mum said.

I began to realize that Miss Honey must've told my mum and dad that I was at a sleepover.

"I wanted to ask her that!" my dad said, approaching us from the dinning room.

"It was so much fun!" I said. "Can I go to my room?"

"Sure" my parents said in unison.
