C/W:Death mentions, angst, slight gore.

It was a sunny afternoon, quiet and peaceful as people went on about their daily lives.

Well, except this client you were talking with. His behavior was...odd. Almost aggressive, a few disagreements here and there.

You had thought nothing of it until the client got physical. The last thing you remembered was pasting out cold and a sharp pain through your abdomen.

You woke up the next day, dazed. Everyone who walked past you didn't even seem to acknowledge you.

You tried to leave the plaza but you couldn't, as if some invisible barriers were holding you back.

You had eventually found your body, splayed out in some creek, a foul smell wafting through the air, a deep hole ripping through your abdomen.

You came to the realization that death had come early for you.

At least a week after your death, you wake elsewhere.

It's a dim room, the smell of burning candles filling your lungs. You peak from the corner that you were behind and see Micheal.

He sits in front of a ouija board with glistening eyes and a despaired look crossing his face.

"Y/N please...give me a sign." He croaked, his voice faulted with a loss of hope.

You step further into the room, your steps nearly silent. Your presence feathery, hazy.

Micheals head perked up from the board, his eyes widening at the sight of you.

"Y/N?, T-Tell me it's you, please." The man pleaded.

Your heart sinks, your chest tightened.

"Micheal, I'm here." Your voice sounded distorted, distanced, as if you were there but not exactly there.

Micheals swallows hard and pushes himself up from the table, his breath hitching as he reaches for your cheek, your skin cold against his.

Micheals eyes met with yours, tears stinging his eyes. "What happened, Y/N?" Micheal inquired gently.

You had been awaiting this question.

"I'm really not sure. It all happened so fast I mean—" "Please don't leave me again." Micheal pleaded, his voice beginning to crack.

You freeze, unsure how to respond. Your expression becomes solemn. "You know I can't promise that, Micheal." You croak.

"We could've had so much more, Y/N." Micheals voice lowered to a shaky whisper. "We could've gotten married and had a life together—I mean—Just, please Y/N, stay, for me." Micheal pleas.

"Micheal, you have to let go." You paused and reached for his hand on your cheek, gently ghosting your thumb over his knuckles. "I want you to be happy, you have to move on."

Micheal let's out a choked cough which turns into a small sob. "Y/N, I can't ever move on—I loved you and I still do. You were the best thing to ever happen to me."Micheal shakes his head and cups your cheek tighter.

You felt your presence becoming weaker as the candle lights flickered and nearly blew out. Micheal nearly panicked as your image slowly began to fade. "Y/N? Please, please stay with me, I can't do this."

You let out a dusted cough, smiling weakly. "I love you, Micheal. I really want you to be happy and move on, ok? For me." You managed, letting out another guttural cough. "I will see you again, I promise, I can't wait." You mumbled against Micheals palm before placing a frigid kiss on it.

Micheal quickly wrapped his arms around you, letting out a sniffle before it turned into a sob. "Please Y/N don't do this to me, I can't do this." Micheal whispered into the crook of your neck.

A gust of wind blew through the small lights of the candles, your presence evaporated into glistening dust, leaving Micheal to himself, failing to his knees in front of the now disappearing dust.

You reappeared in the plaza, rain pouring as people scurrying to their homes. You stand their, unsure of what to do.

Micheal grasped and clawed at the ground, desperate for some kind of trace, make or sign of your presence but he fails.

Days later, Micheal tries to talk about the incident but everyone says he's utterly insane.

Micheal is desperate for someone to validate his feelings, yet no one is willing to.
