Tracey Reyes's POV:
I woke up to the sound of voices and the bright sun which shone through the curtains. I stretched and rubbed my eyes.
"Better go grab some breakfast." I thought to myself.
A few minutes later...
Bed made, hair brushed and glasses on, I headed downstairs in search of food. My Mum and Dad were talking in the kitchen, laughing as my Mum began to cook scrambled eggs.
"Oh hi anak! Good Morning," said Mum joyously. "Your phone has been going off, by the way, I think you have messages from your classmate."
"Classmate? I wonder who could that be." I thought to myself as I took my phone and checked my messages, plans for breakfast forgotten.
My eyes lit up at the notifications.
"3 New Messages from KIara Kim 💗" it said.
I beamed and opened the notification.
"Hey, are you free today?" 😊
"The cherry blossoms are blooming everywhere at the park."
"And I'd really like to see them with you."
I could feel my cheeks burning and my smile grow even bigger like the Cheshire Cat.
"Mom, could I go out today?" I asked, eyes shining.
"Of course anak, eat some toast first though." She replied.
I nodded eagerly and began helping myself to margarine and brown bread.
Seeing me in a happy mood, my Dad smiled. "What's got you into such a good mood? Is it a girl or a boy?" He asked.
"Girl," I replied. "I promise, I'll let you meet her soon," I told my parents as I quickly finished my toast and mug of water and dashed upstairs to get ready.
Two Hours Later...
I stood outside Kiara's house which was a cosy-looking cottage.
I then took out my phone and gave her a text.
"I'm outside, ready to go see the blossoms?" 🌸
Just then, I got an incoming call from Kiara. I answered immediately.
"I'm almost ready, look up!" She said. I looked up to see Kiara looking out the window. Her long hair hung loose around her shoulders,
"She's like Rapunzel." I thought to myself. "A dark-haired Rapunzel." Seeing me at her front door, she waved and blew a kiss.
I could feel my heart melt as I waved back still in disbelief that out of any girl she could have she chose me.
I watched as she popped her head back inside and heard her close the bedroom door and sprint down the stairs. She then opened the front door and threw her arms around me giving me a kiss on the cheek.
I gave her a bashful smile then noticed the backpack on her back. "What's with the backpack? Are we going hiking?" I teased.
Kiara let out a chuckle. "Oh, this? You'll find out later." She replied, giving me a wink, causing my cheeks to heat up even more.
"How did I get lucky enough to get such a cute girl like Kiara Kim?" I wondered to myself as I began walking down the path with her hand interlaced with mine.
The trees held cherry blossoms which fell as the wind blew. My heart felt full as Kiara guided me to shelter under the cherry blossom trees and began taking a picnic blanket and snacks out of her bag.
"Ohh, so that's what the bag is for!" I remarked in realization.
Kiara laughed, the sound like a cheerful song. "Yes, I wanted to have a picnic with you." She explained.
Her eyes suddenly lit up. "Oh wait! That's not all!" She then began searching in her bag again then pulled out something that rustled. I gasped. It was a beautifully handmade Sanrio bouquet with pink and purple tissue paper, ribbon, and a Hello Kitty plushie in the middle of it all.
"Oh Kiara, it's beautiful! How did you know?" I asked. Kiara flushed and gave me a shy smile. "Your lanyard, I noticed you always have a Hello Kitty plushie keychain attached to it." She explained.
I felt so touched she remembered such a small detail about me and leaned in to give her a kiss.
"I love you," I told her. She kissed me back. "I love you more." She told me.
We then began helping ourselves to food. Ham and lettuce sandwich for me and Gimbap for Kiara.
"I've never tried Gimbap before, is it nice?" I asked after having a sandwich.
"Why don't you try some? Here!" She exclaimed taking some chopsticks and putting one on my plate.
Our hands touched making us both jump and blush at the sudden contact.
I popped the gimbap in my mouth and chewed. "Mm, this is delicious! I've never had anything like it before." I told her.
"Wait, you have something there." She told me. "Wait, where?" I asked.
She chuckled then placed two hands around my face and kissed me. "There," She said with a cheeky grin.
I blushed. "Could she be any cuter?" I thought to myself.
