Chapter 5: The Test Results

Author's POV

Jae and his friends had seemed to know the four of them, but they didn't know who he was. "You all seem to know who we are but we can't say the same for you, so do you mind telling us how you know our names?" Rosa said to them with a smile and yet looking as serious as ever. They all looked around at each other.

"Well...we heard some rumours about the power level test going around." Shana started. "People are saying that y'all girl's power level test results came back as 'O' rank, and no one knows what that means..., so then is it true?" She finished. Mai-Mai, Rosa, and Koya looked around at each other with confused expressions, and Kanon was also looking at them.

" I can see that you're all confused, haven't you guys seen the power level test results yet?" Jae asked. "No, we haven't." All three girls responded. " I was going to look at them after lunch," Kanon said to Jae. Jae seemed like he was going to say something else, but before he could the speakers came on. A voice announced, " The following students: Koya Iglesias, Rosa Lafoit, Mai-Mai Lopez, Please Head to floor five, Guidance room 405." The girls were surprised to hear their names being called but they would have been even more surprised if they hadn't heard what Jae and his friends had to say just now. They told Kanon goodbye and he wished them luck as they stood up to go. The whole cafeteria turned to watch them and whisper as the girls walked out.

After the girls walked out Kanon turned back around to look at the group that sat in front of him. "So...what homeroom are you guys in? Mine is 10-10." Kanon said awkwardly, trying to keep the conversation going. The look of surprise could not be hidden from their faces, especially Jae's. "We are in 10-5. Are you and those girls really that strong?" Karina asked Kanon what everyone else was thinking.

The girls were in the elevator to go up to floor five, and they all had the same question in mind.

" you guys... what do you think they called us for?" Mai-mai asked with worry.

"I don't know, but maybe it has something to do with what those kids were saying earlier," Rosa responded.

"Yeah... what were they on about anyways? I just hope that we're not in trouble or anything." Said Koya

They got out of the elevator on floor five and headed straight to room 405. Koya slowly opened the door and then entered. The room was larger than it seemed from the outside. There was a desk and the end of the well-decorated room, and behind the desk sat a woman with long dark hair. She wore a suit as white as the clouds on a sunny day. " Girls! Come in and please have a seat. I'm Mrs. Neige." The woman said with the most genuine smile adorning her face.

" I will explain why you girls are here, so you can just have a seat and relax," Ms. Neige continued. She explained that the school had never seen a power-level test like ours, even though the school has had the most powerful heroes pass through it. "I called you all here because I've been doing some research of my own, and I believe the reason that your test results came back like that is because your powers have not reached their full potential yet."

Rosa looked down when she heard this as though she was again trying to remember something. "I would like to be your counsellor for your time in high school, and you girls can talk to me about anything. I could also help you monitor your powers." The girls looked at each other as the offer sounded good, but they didn't want to jump and accept it just like that. " You girls can think about it and come back whenever you're ready." Said Mrs. Neige when she saw the ponder on their faces.

The girls left the office questioning whether they should even consider the offer.

" Well... at least we're not in trouble," Koya said, interrupting the other girl's thoughts.

" Yeah, but what was all she said about being our counsellor?" Mai-mai questioned.

" Is she even sincere about anything she said, because this just feels weird all of a sudden," Rosa said. " I mean my powers have never given me trouble before."

" Me neither... but... did you guys see that guy who came by our table?" Said Koya.

"You mean the one you were staring at as soon as he sat down?" Mai-mai joked teasingly.

" Oh. so... that's why you didn't even hear a word that was said as soon as he came over." Rosa added.

Koya blushed and mumbled. "Seems like I won't be able to hide anything from you guys, huh"

The girls walked to their next class chatting about their newfound friendship with each other, but they were still thinking about the offer that seemed unreal and so 'out of the blue.' Their next class was Battle training, and the new trio was split up into different classes. Kanon was in the same class as Koya though. The girls meet with him on their way to class, so Koya goes along with Kanon to class.
