Forever lost

Prologue

Ten years ago, the royal family of England was blessed with a new addition to their family. To everyone's surprise, this new baby was a beautiful baby girl with green eyes and chubby cheeks.

Just as they had done with their previous children, the then-princes decided to set aside their royal duties for a while to give their full attention to the new family member.

Despite breaking protocol, the kings were reluctant to leave their children alone if they could help it, so it was not uncommon to see young Prince Alexander walking hand in hand with one of his parents or the twins, Ethan and Apollo, squabbling over their little sister Lilly.

Only on rare occasions where the children could not attend events with their parents, they stayed with a nanny who had been carefully chosen and surrounded by security.

It was on one of these strange days that tragedy struck. It was a spring evening, almost summer, when the weather turned warm, and the days grew longer. The princes were on a trip to Australia, too far from home to take four children with them.

As was the custom every night, Martha, their nanny, put each of the children to bed. The surprise was that the young princess had disappeared by morning.

The secret service was quickly alerted, and airports were closed, but it was already too late; the princess was no longer in the country, in fact, she was much farther away than anyone could imagine.

For years, the investigation came to a standstill. Security cameras were reviewed, thousands of testimonies claiming to have seen the girl were checked, but nothing helped; the case remained unsolved.

Years later, the clothes the girl had been wearing on the night of her disappearance were found along with traces of blood, leading to her being declared dead.

Eight years later, the royal family still mourns the death of their little one.
