After a moment of contemplative silence, Vincent let out a deep sigh, deciding it was time to change the subject. He leaned over towards Slick Nick and asked about the Head Experimenter’s whereabouts.

  
  
"Hey, do you know where he went?" Vincent inquired.
  
  
  
Slick Nick, with a puzzled expression, asked for clarification. "Who?" He questioned.
  
  
  
Vincent raised his eyebrows in a repetitive motion and tilted his head slightly to signal he meant the Head Experimenter without explicitly saying it.

  
Slick Nick mulled it over for a moment, processing the gesture as though solving a complex puzzle. His eyes widened behind his mask as comprehension dawned on him. 

   

"Oh, the Head Experimenter, right right..." He began,

"He actually left the moment we all got into the clinic, I'm guessing he's not the type to surround himself with emotional people."
  

  
Vincent's eyes crinkled with satisfaction, a faint hum of contentment escaping him as a silent "thank you" reverberated through the room.

  

  

The rest of the room descended into calm chatter and routines, team members checking equipment, discussing the day's tasks, and making plans for their next assignment. 

Slick Nick briefly recounted an anecdote from their last mission, sharing a moment of humor that eased the tension of their current situation.
  

Vincent listened intently, nodding with amusement at the shared recollections.
