Platonic,

This peace threatens to overwhelm me,

And the languid spirits of a steady realm

Move to and fro along the grains of the coast.

Luna speaks again and her words smile themselves,

Cascading down to this night time host,

They dance and they sing but their voices are witheld.

Subdued, you may even say.

Neurotic,

The heat of the day quickens my ravished spirit,

East and west meet me before the sunset

And clasp my mind between their two great arms.

I learned not to strain or to forget,

Lest History feel the need to teach me,

When I do not look in a book or a concept.

I know my place with the reeds and the fireflies.
