Back story:

Family Life

Ryan Cunnings lived in New Hampshire. He had two foster brothers: Jared, and Ollie, a foster sister: Ray, a foster mother and a foster father: Clara, and Aiden. He hated his siblings and parents, and they hated him. He was adopted by him for reasons unknown to him, but it sure seemed like it was by accident. Ryan also had a single friend with whom he hung out with lot. Her name was Carla, and he loved her, but never outright told her that. One day Carla left him a note. " Hey, Ryan. I am sorry to say this, but I am leaving. I know we had a lot of fun, but I can't handle you right now. You are too much for me to deal with. I know that you loved me, so this must hurt, but it has to be done. Goodbye." Ryans eyes teared up. His friend had left him. He wiped way his tears. * You know what?* Ryan thought to himself. * Fuck her. I have been a good, and loyal friend. If she wants to leave it's her mistake.* But despite this Ryan still felt sad.

Ryans " parents" were on the verge of going into the ' This hell is reserved for terrible parents.' field. They would constantly decide when he wouldn't get food, so several times he'd be starving for a couple days until they gave him a meal. He was usually only allowed in the house in the morning, lunch, and bed time, so most of his time was spent outside. They lived kind of far off from the city, and his only friend had just left him, so he was isolated and alone for most of his childhood. And this is never really good for a developing brain, so Ryan had gone a bit crazy over the years of isolation

Him as his brothers would frequently duel, though he was only allowed to use a stick, while they were allowed to use knives, so most of the time Ryan lost. Lots of times it left Ryan with a scar or two, but that's to be expected when your dueling with people who hate you. He frequently saw Ray looking at them from behind a corner, and new that she had somehow set him up to fight with them.

But when Ryan did win, he was able to enjoy it for point 2 seconds before he got grounded. It really sucked when he got grounded because it was usually for a extended period of time where he jut got mashed potatoes and corn for most of his meals, which were both things he hated. Though it did keep him well fed.

After so many losses, and the loss of his friend Ryan decided that he was going to train himself in anyway of combat he could find. So in secret at night he would go out to a clearing not too far away from the house, and train. It took him the better part of a year and a half, but he finally mastered all the ones that were crucial in combat, or so he thought.

Ryan had also learned that he could be pretty sneaky when he wanted to be, and he used that in his duels as well. The next time that him and his brothers dueled he barely won. He had decided to ditch the stick. It was at that point just a cumbersome object weighing him down. So without it he could move more freely, and fast.

He would sneak behind his brothers and tackle them, making them fall over. They picked him up by the scruff of his neck, and threw him to the ground. Ryan got up, and punched his brothers in the stomach making them double over. He sat on top of them and started to endlessly punch them, and started to laugh. But before he could do anymore damage his parents dragged him away, and threw him in the dark, damp basement. He was kept there for a while, not being able to see anything thanks to the lack of windows.

He decided that he had had enough with his family. He wanted people who would actually respect him, and treat him like he matters. He had a plan. He didn't expect to get out of the basement anytime soon, so he would somehow have to pick the lock. He scrambled around trying to find a paperclip. It took a while, but he found one, and fashioned it into a picklock.

After he escaped he came up with a plan. He needed money of course, and a way of transportation. He would do it on the 25th of December. He never got any Christmas presents, so this year he was going to give himself one. On the night of the 24th of December Ryan stole his mothers purse, and his parents car keys. He brought his dagger to bring with him in case he needed it on the run.

When he was about to leave he saw Ray staring at him with a box in her hands. Then she ran upstairs and his parents came upstairs. They saw him the keys and money. When they saw what was happening they went and grabbed a stick, and a knife. Ryans face contorted into a twisted smile when he saw their weapons. He jumped around them, and knocked the weapons out of their hands, and knocked them out, then locked them in the basement. " Lets see how long you assholes last down there." He said with a maniacal laugh. He yelled up to Ray: " DON'T FOLLOW ME TRAITOR!"

The Run

When he was done with his parents he got his dads drivers license, got into the car and left. After a while the car ran out of gas. He decided to go on foot. He would train, and push himself to his limits. He needed to survive after all. Ryan fought off things that didn't look human, but he didn't care. He never really paid attention. He was too busy with the glee of battle.

Ryan kept on running around the states trying to find somewhere, anywhere that he could find refuge. He had met several friends along the way. Elaina, a smart girl who came from an terrible home, just like Ryan. Ryan related to her the most out of everybody. Todd, a buff kid, who never gave up. And finally Samuel. Ryan thought of him as a brother. Samuel had been his first friend on the run. They had been through thick and thin together. He was a loyal friend, and would always help Ryan when he need him the most. They had helped him get over his madness.

Then it happened. Ryan and his group had been walking near Washington D.C when they came across a big group of kids harassing people. Ryan had wanted to go after the kids. They reminded him of his parents and he wanted to take them down. His friends had insisted that he shouldn't do it, but he did anyways. It was a big mistake.

His friends reluctantly followed him to fight the kids. He didn't know at the time that these kids were children of Ares who were also on the run. Ryan got into a fight with one. The others came and started to fight Ryan as well. He held his own for a while, but the kids were stronger, and bigger than him. They had him pinned to the ground, and put a long gash on his chest. Another scar. His friends saw what happened, and became angry. They came up to support him in the fight. They fought with strength, but the kids dealt with them easily. After the fight was done the Ares kids walked away.

Ryan crawled over to his friends who were laying motionless. He felt their pulses, and found out they were still alive. Ryan cried in relief. He wiped away the tears, and waited for them to wake up. When they woke up he hugged them, then they treated their wounds. At that point his mind started to go mad again.

Ryan vowed that he would get vengeance on those kids. He had asked his friends to join him, but they decided not to after last time. Ryan was a bit sad, but understood why they decided not to come. Ryan had decided that he was just going to beat all of the kids up, so he got his dagger, and bought some brass knuckles.

The Search

Ryan had started to investigate the kids. Get everything he could on them. He would have to play this smart. He tracked them through Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida. He found them, but didn't attack. Not yet at least. Ryan stood from afar studying them. Getting a feel for how they fought. Ryan had formulated a plan.

The Plan Of Attack

Ryan had figured out that the leader loved chips. He would set up a trap not too far into the woods, then they would fight. Simple as that.

Ryan would then corner the group of kids. They loved attacking from all sides at once, so Ryan would put them in an area where they could only attack from front.

The Fight

Ryan laid a trap, to get the kid away from his group and be alone. He planned ahead, and put a trail of chip bags to a trap. The kid followed. * Just as stupid as I thought* Ryan thought to himself. A net dropped down onto the kid, then Ryan dropped from, a tree. " Remember me asshole?" Ryan asked the kid. " No I don't, you don't seem important enough for me to remember." The leader said.

Ryan grabbed his brass knuckles, and knife, then cut the rope letting the leader go. " Fight me. " Ryan said. The leader laughed. He charged at Ryan, and Ryan sidestepped the leader and hit him in his stomach with the brass knuckles. The leader feel to the ground, and panted for breath. He got back up, then punched Ryan a couple times, but Ryan had conditioned himself to be able to handle the pain. He just laughed it away. " What the Hades?" The leader asked, confused about why Ryan was laughing. They fought for several minutes, but at the end Ryan won. " Go after anyone else, and I will be back for you." Ryan walked away.

So, Ryan's plan was finally coming into place after 4 years of observing, and planning. Ryan would corner the group of kids. He expected that they would attack immediately, and try to go from all sides of him, so he decided to corner them in a room where the only attack if from the front. At that point they would attack together, but uncoordinated.

Ryan saw the kids go into a condo, and followed them in. He locked the door behind him, to make sure that to get out they would have to get through him, then unlock the door. " Remember me?" Ryan asked the group of kids as they stared at him. " Soon no-one will remember you." One of the kids said. He looked like one of the stronger ones, but it didn't matter. " I could say the same to you." Ryan replied to the kids comment. " So we gonna fight, or just exchange insults?"

The kids then ran at him full speed, as expected. Ryan dodged most of the hits. He used their momentum against them, and knocked them all out after they had beat him up, and gave him a scar on his arm. When he was done he left a paper saying " I am always watching "

Ryan ransacked their clothes, and the room, and found something that said 'Camp Half-Blood' on it. * Interesting* Ryan thought. * I'll have to figure out what's going on with that. But first I need to meet up with my friends.*

The Betrayal.

Ryan had gotten back to where him and his friends had arranged to meet up, but when he got there he only saw a note. It said ' We've decided to go to a better place. We have rented a room at a motel, about a days worth of a walk. It's room number 13. See you soon.' After Ryan read the note he sighed. " Why did they change places?" He asked himself. He went to a shop and found out that it was Monday the 12th, so he'd get there on Tuesday the 13th at room 13. Ryan had recognized something with Tuesday and thirteen going together wasn't such a great thing in Greek culture, but he didn't care. Was probably superstition anyways. When Ryan had arrived he found the 13th room, and went in. He found his friends. But they didn't exactly seem happy to see him. it looked the opposite in fact. They had knives and bats. He looked at all of them.

" What's wrong guys? Waiting for an army to march in here?" Ryan said with a nervous laugh. Samuel didn't look Ryan in the eyes. He sighed. " Ryan , I really don't want to do this, but you've become a threat." Ryan looked at him aghast. " How have I become a threat?! I would never hurt you guys. I went and beat up that group because they hurt you guys!" Samuel looked like he was about to say something, but then decided not to. This time Todd spoke up. " Not a threat to us. A threat to basically anything. Hell every fight that we've been with you on, you always send someone to the hospital. And not to mention how you constantly put us in danger with your rash decision making. We just can't have you out there."

Ryan looked desperately to Elaina. " Your the smart one, you can't agree with this!" She just looked down and didn't say anything. " She was the one who brought it up." Samuel said eyes still glued to the floor. " It makes sense. You do always put us in danger, then when you get us out of it, you blame it on the other party, and go after them. This is the logical decision." Ryan grew angry. " Samuel you were a brother to me! And now you stab me in the back." He turned to Elaina. " You. We shared so much together, but now you suggest you guys take me out." He turned to Todd. " How much fun did we have beating those guys up together? Your just doing this because She suggested it." He told him pointing to Elaina. " And your just doing it to get me out of here because you think you can lead better. Elaina started to protest. " No! We already told you the re-" Ryan cut her off. " The real reason? You and me are so similar. You think that you can hide what your thinking, but I can always tell."

" And Samuel, I honestly have no idea why you are doing this. It's not for power, or because you want to agree with a person you like. Maybe it's because you think that I'm weighing you down? No. Do you want to explain?" Ryan asked. Samuel just shook his head no. Ryan sighed. " Fine then. If you guys are going to try and take me out do it right now, and lets just get it over with." Todd was the first to step forward. " Ryan I really am sorry." " Yeah sure you are." Ryan said. He didn't want to hurt his friends, so he'll let his friends hurt them selves. Todd charged him, and Ryan sidestepped. Todd hit the wall. He turned around and swung his fist at Ryan. Ryan ducked below it, and the momentum of the swing led his fist into his face. " Why you hitting yourself?" Todd fell over after that. " Nighttime." He turned to the other two. " Which of you is next?" Elaina stepped forward twirling her knife. " Goodbye Ryan." She told him. " Yeah bye." Ryan responded. Elaina ran up to him, and cut him on his arm. " What the hell is it with everybody I know giving me scars?" Ryan complained. He kicked the knife out of Elainas hand. " You know what? I'm breaking my special no hurting friend rule on pause for you." Ryan said he kicked her in the stomach, and headbutted her. She grabbed his arm, and pressed a thumb deep into the cut. Ryan seethed, and fell to the ground. " That hurts." he managed to say. She flipped him onto his back. She started to hit him repeatedly, but he kneed her in the stomach, causing a gag reflex, and sending her back. He hit her on the head with a lamp, and she got knocked out as well.

Ryan turned to Samuel. " Please leave Samuel. I don't want to hurt you." He just shook his head, and finally looked up. " I have to do this." Ryan sighed. He lowered his guard, and knelt onto both knees. " Just do it. If it's this important to you, just do it. I can't hurt you." Samuel lifted his baseball bat, and hit Ryan's head with it with as much force as possible. Ryan slumped over unconscious.

The Aftermath

Ryan woke up in a semi-familiar place. He was in a bland room. With custard colored walls, a t.v, a lamp, and two cabinets on either side of the bed. Ryan rubbed his head. Where was he? Then his memories hit like a brick wall. He was in the motel. He had just finished his fight when he let Samuel K.O him. Wait but he was still here. Breathing like every other day. He smiled. He knew his best friend wouldn't kill him. Ryan got up, and searched around when he found the camp half-blood t-shirt. He decided it might not be such a good idea to go hunting for his friends, so he decided to go investigate this camp half-blood thing.

Ryan started searching the country top to bottom, and didn't plan to stop until he got his answers. If something got in his way, they would disappear. Eventually he found a monster of some sort. He was on a ship traveling to Hawai'i when he heard a beautiful song. He just couldn't resist it! Then he saw something on a rock nearby. He thought * Wow! Merm...* Ryan looked closer, and saw what they really were. It was a birds body, with a woman's head, and had scaly feet. Ryan found her utterly repulsive, until she started to sing again. Ryan almost jumped ship to go to her, when a pair of earmuffs went over his ears, and then he couldn't hear anything.

He looked behind him, and saw the captain, holding up something he had written down. " You always need earmuffs around this area. People keep on jumping over board because of a beautiful song. Ryan wrote thank you on a note. * I've heard about things like that before.* Ryan thought. * Sirens. They use their beautiful singing voice to lure sailors over to a rock, and make them crash. But that's impossible... they're from Greek mythology, which can't be real...* But Ryan knew he had found his proof.

After that, when he got to Alaska he got a vehicle to drive him back to America. He didn't want to risk the boat ride again. When he got back, he started to find more monsters, and had to fight them off. One of them which spoke something close to English he kept alive for a while so he could get info about the camp he had read on the item. The monster told him of a camp where it could not go at Long Island. Ryan threw it to the ground, then headed off towards Long Island.

On the way to camp

When going to camp he had gone through cities, and met people. He kept on seeing people who looked like his friends. So he hid away from everybody when in the cities to keep from seeing people. He didn't want to deal with the emotions that came with seeing his friends faces again.

When he was in a woods area somewhat close to the camp, he felt a presence somewhere near him. It was a tingle up his spine, and felt that someone was watching him. He looked around, and saw a hoof coming out from a tree. He got his dagger, and walked towards it with caution. When he rounded the tree he saw a satyr. " What are you doing here?" Ryan asked with a threatening voice. The satyr replied without fear " Well I've been following you. Just to make sure your a Demi-god. It's my job to bring you to camp half-blood." " I don't need help. I can find it on my own." Ryan told the satyr. " Well too bad, cause I'm leading you there." The satyr told Ryan as he leapt ahead of him. " It's this way!" The satyr told him. Ryan reluctantly followed.

In camp.

The satyr had led Ryan to the camp entrance. " This is where I leave you. Bye!" The satyr said before he ran off. " Lets see what this camps about." Ryan said to himself as he walked in. He saw several people walking around, chatting. Ryan decided to ignore them, and went over to one of the bigger buildings. He found out that it was a dining hall of sorts, and was super hungry. " I could go for a meal." Ryan said. Immediately he got a hamburger, and some grape juice. " It's been so long..." Ryan inhaled his meal, then stood in the corner of the place. When a green blazing symbol appeared over his head. He heard someone say that he was a Dionysus kid. Ryan walked out of the dining hall.

For a while he kept to himself until a couple of people found him, and forced him to have a conversation with them. Eventually Ryan grew less wary of the people in camp, and started to make friends. But whenever he goes to sleep he dreams of his past. The betrayal of his dearest friends. all of the fights where he had gotten scars. every single incident. He would always wake up in a cold sweat when he dreamed of those. He would usually take walks through the woods when it happened. He would make sure to always wear a long sleeve shirt so that none of his scars were visible, but those times he forgot, his friends never seemed to notice.

Ryan kept up on his training, and technique so he didn't forget it when it was necessary. Every now and then he would grow slightly suspicious of his friends, but they would always prove that they would never betray him. He always had duels with one of them, but those were harmless fun. They didn't even get that many scars. Although his friends had unknowingly had helped him with his madness, and he was good at controlling it, but sometimes he couldn't control it. He had a specific area for it when he knew it was coming and couldn't stop it. A little secluded spot in the woods.

If you were to take a look almost everything would be cut, or destroyed. It was blocked off from the rest of the camp so that he wouldn't hurt someone on accident.

Going back.

Ryan had decided that it was time to go back to his home and confront his parents. When he got back to his house he found it up for sale, and wondered what had happened. He looked around, and asked several people. Apparently his parents had died in the basement. They didn't have the keys on them when he pushed them in. * Oops* He thought to himself. He wasn't to mad about it though. He decided to go into the house to look around. The he saw something... interesting. He picked up and old journal that he didn't remember and read through it.

The Journal.

Entry number 1: Happy days!
Mon just got me a new journal! I brought it up to my room and now here we are! This is going to be so fun!

Entry number 2: Anna and Hailey are being annoying again. They keep in stealing my toys, and messing with them. Although mom got them back.

Entry number 3: It's been a while. Anna stole my journal. I'm pretty sure Hailey helped.I forgot this even existed until today when I found it under my bed. Moms decided to homeschool me. Don't know why.

Entry number 4: Ok moms acting really weird. She was secluded, and isolated herself away from us today. She would get snippy at a comment. We just left her alone.

Entry number 5: Mom just gave me this soda and sent me up to my room. My heads feeling a bit dizzy. Don't understand why. I need to go get some rest.

Entry number six: I just woke up and my house was empty! Mom was gone! I'll have to investigate later.

Entry number seven. Some new people came into my house. Told me they were my foster parents. Told me my mom had died in an accident. But the weird thing is that I don't really remember her... someone's messing with me.

Ryan looked up from the journal. " Wait... did I know my mom?" He asked himself. " And why are Hailey and Anna in my journal?" He shook his head, and left the house.

He was walking around the city one more time when out of the corner of his eye Ryan saw somebody oddly.... familiar. The he realized. It was Carla. He stormed up to her. " Hey Carla. Remember me?" He saw her eyes widen in surprise. " What are you doing here?! I thought you left!" Ryan punched her hard in the stomach. " WHAT THE HELL? YOU LEAVE WITHOUT SAYING GOODBYE TO MY FACE!" Ryan shouted. Carla doubled over. " I'm sorry." She wheezed. " I just couldn't handle saying goodbye to you then." Ryan made a disgusted face. " You know something I learned Carla?" " What did you learn?" Carla asked. " That excuses are like assholes. They are everywhere, and they are always bad. But It's weird seeing an excuse come out of an asshole." Ryan punched her one more time then walked away, then said not looking back " I thought we were friends. I guess a kids mind can think of stupid things huh?" Ryan promptly left her behind, and headed back towards camp.

When he got back to camp he went to his cabin, and started to destroy everything that he owned. " Why did I have to see her again? Why?" He muttered to himself. Anna, and Maysi hearing the commotion came into the Dionysus cabin, and saw Ryan destroying stuff. " Hey Ryan, what wrong? You seem a little angry." Maysi asked. Ryan turned to Maysi, and Anna" I just.... saw somebody I didn't think I would see again." Ryan sighed as he sat down, and started cry. Anna walked over and sat down next to him. She didn't say anything, and side hugged him. Ryan got up. " I... need some alone time." He left the cabin. Maysi followed after him. " Ryan wait!" Ryan stopped and turned around. " What do you want?" He snipped at her.

" I just wanted to know.... who was it that you saw?" Ryan sighed. " She was my first friend. She left me at an early age with only a note. I went back to my home town and there she was." " Thank you for telling me." Maysi told Ryan. I'm gonna give you that alone time now."

Ryan remembered what he had found in his house, and ran to get Anna, and Hailey to tell them the news. After a bit of convincing they realized that they were all siblings.
