Arriving at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, Mubarak looked around the place as the hot air of Abuja hit him on the face.
He walked downed the plane stairs holding his travelling bag and went into the airport building where he waited for his box. He took the box and went straight outside and before he knew what was happening, he bumped into a girl who was in a hurry, at the entrance.
"I'm so sorry, Sir. I was in a hurry and I didn't see you." The girl said and he glared at her.
"How could you see me when you are busy looking at your phone, stupid fool." He said and left her standing there shocked.
He went out of the airport building and his sister Aisha engulfed him in a tight hug immediately, taking him off guard.
"Ya Mubarak, I missed you!" She whispered with her face buried in his chest making her voice muffled.
"I missed you too, kanwata (my little sister)!" He said back to her, hugging her.
Aisha and Mubarak have a very good relationship since they were kids. She is his favourite person.
"Toh ya Isa haka (Okay, that's enough). Step aside let me hug my son." He heard Hajiya Binta's voice.
"Mommy!!!" He said in an exciting voice.
He released his sister from the hug and move to where his mother was standing. He engulfed in a warm hug immediately he came close to her.
They stood like that for some time before Aisha decided to interrupt their sweet mother-son moment.
"Can we please go? You people are acting like a couple that have not met in a really long time." She said with a pout and looked away.
The mother and son duo burst out laughing at her expression after separating from the hug.
"Well, you can't blame. This woman right here is and will forever be the love of my life. The only woman I love. She will forever be in my heart." Mubarak said teasing his sister.
"Ohh that's cringe you know," Aisha said and started walking towards a white jeep.
"Whatever!" Mubarak said and laughed at her with their mom, while following her to go to the car.
"Good Afternoon, Sir." Malam Audu, one of their drivers greeted him.
"Malam Audu, how are you?" He asked him.
"I am fine, Sir. Welcome back." Malam Audu said and collected his box. He opened the car booth and put it there. He closed it and went to the driver's seat.
When all of them settled in, Mallam Audu started the car and drove out of the airport. The drive was not a quiet one as Mubarak, Aisha and their mother kept talking.
Mubarak is the only son of their parents while Aisha is the only daughter of their parents, making them siblings.
On arriving at their house which is a three story building that screams luxury, Mubarak went inside with his mother and sister to see his father.
Alhaji Faruq Abdullahi and Mubarak have a very strong father - son relationship. You could mistake them as brothers because of how they relate plus their striking resemblance with each other.
"Alhaji na Hajiya!" He said entering his dad's sitting room.
"So you haven't change up till now huh?" Alhaji Faruq said feigning anger at his son.
"Now what did I say wrong? You know that's the truth. You cannot live without your wife." Mubarak said matching towards his father.
"Well, that's true. And why did you keep her waiting at the airport?" Alhaji Faruq said to his son jokingly.
"Because she is my mother and I can do what ever I want." Mubarak answered in the same tone making Alhaji laugh.
"Well get yourself a wife and let mine breath." Alhaji Faruq told his son.
"Okay! Now Good afternoon daddy," He greeted his father.
"Afternoon my son, how was your flight?" Alhaji Faruq asked his son.
"It was fine." He answered and with that, they chatted while Hajiya and Aisha were in the kitchen getting everything ready for lunch.
They were talking about the deal he went to secure in Australia when Aisha announced lunch is ready. Both Mubarak and Alhaji Faruq left the sitting room and went to the dinning room laughing at the jokes they made.
The family of four ate together talking and laughing among themselves. You can say they are the happiest family on earth.
After eating, Mubarak went to his floor which was the third floor. The floor has two bedrooms, a sitting room, a kitchen, a gym area and a home office.
On reaching his floor, he took a shower and prayed. Then decided to sleep for some hours as he is jetlagged, but not before he called his best friend, Omar.
He slept off immediately his head touched his pillow.
