It was quiet other than the TV playing and the sound of Dagur softly snoring on the couch beside me. Grimmjow sat on the floor in front of me while watching the TV, and Nel was out for the time being. Having the demon sitting between my legs, I was brushing out his long hair.

It was so soft that I was tempted to bury my face into it. Refraining from doing so, I set the brush aside and reached toward the crown of his skull to collect three parts of his hair. Flipping the strands to start a braid, I could still sense a quiet tension in the air.

This tension had been present whenever Grimmjow and I were alone now ever since Nel mentioned how Grimmjow seemed happy. I couldn't help but think Nel must've said more after I retreated to the office and that was the source of the tension.

Regardless, Grimmjow continued to sleep by my side and allowed me to show affection. So I couldn't figure out where this feeling was coming from.

I continued to braid his hair in silence, gathering up more hair as I went further back over his skull. I so badly wanted to ask him about it, but I didn't want to step on a trigger I wasn't aware of and set him off.

"Stop it." Grimmjow broke the silence.

"Stop what?" I paused to let him answer.

"I can feel how you're looking at me." His tone was low and steady.

"I have to look at you to braid your hair."

"Just fuckin' ask." Grimmjow's voice still didn't change, and I glanced to the side while thinking.

  "Are you....okay?"

"Fine." His tail thumped against the floor.

"I find that hard to believe."

  "Too bad."

"....Please. What's wrong?" My question was answered by silence as my fingers twisted his hair together. His gaze remained on the TV, and he didn't move an inch.

  "You."

"What did I do?" I kept my voice calm as unease grew.

  "Exist."

  "I don't follow."

"Being stuck here with you has changed me." Grimmjow's ear twitched when Dagur sighed in his sleep. "And I'm not sure I like it. I'm not sure I dislike it, either. I'm still strong. I can still kill. So I don't know."

"Is this coming up from your talk with Nel?" I asked, and he tensed.

  "How much did you hear?"

"I don't have heightened senses. I can't hear you two in here from the office." I saw the tension in his shoulders ease. "So it is from that talk?"

  "Yeah."

"But you already knew you'd changed."

  "To a degree."

  "....Do you want my help?"

  "No."

"If you change your mind, just let me know." I kissed the top of his head, and he leaned back to look up at me.

"Do you think I'm more dangerous now?"

"I wouldn't know for certain. Why?"

"That werewolf exorcist said I was more dangerous." He muttered as I tied off his long braid. "But I didn't even kill him. I would've before."
