With a successful rescue mission under your belt you are transferred back over onto the Havoc Marauder for your next mission. The Remora had connected to the Marauder using a ship docking tunnel and you and Hunter had walked over after saying your goodbyes. Rex and the others on the Remora continued on to Teya IV while Tech set in the coordinates for Cantonica.
From what the computer was saying it was going to be a long flight, taking you into a more regulated part of the outer rim territories. Hunter still seemed skeptical about the mission as he explained it to the crew but Wrecker and Omega were excited and Tech said he would research more on their contact before they actually arrived. This gave Hunter some reassurance and everyone settled down for the long flight. Omega was going over some of her assigned homework with Hunter, Wrecker was workingout using Gonky in the back of the ship and Tech had invited you to join him up front.
You settled down into the co-pilots seat in silence but Tech soon started speaking to you; "I understand that you were able to assist with ground control" he began.
"Yes, it was just the help they needed. There seemed to be no end to those TK troopers but we had just enough time".
"It was fortunate, however such unknown factors could have cost them the entire mission. Relying on luck is not a viable strategy".
You couldn't deny that Tech was correct, if you and Hunter had not stepped in they likely would have had to retreat without rescuing anyone. Or worse, this mission would have resulted in their capture. Rex didn't seem like the type to choose risky situations so you were hoping that this mission would be an outlier. Tech had continued talking, it was something about needed ship repairs from the air support he had done but your mind was elsewhere.
You were not sure where it came from but you felt nervous, exceedingly nervous. This would be your first interaction with the Monolith besides speaking with David and hearing about them. You knew OF them but you wondered what were the chances they knew OF you, Jedi or otherwise. You still had to remind yourself that those you were flying with already knew you were a Jedi. You didn't need to hide your meditations anymore, or explain away certain actions. However, you were still nervous about how you would be treated or what might happen if or when others found out. You have been lucky with your situations and new companions thus far, but like Tech says. Luck is not a viable strategy.
"What is on your mind?" Tech asks, noticing your gaze drifting off into space and your breath becoming increasingly quiet.
You turned and looked into his brown eyes, the starlight reflecting off his lenses. "Well, I guess I'm wondering who we will meet".
"I believe the intel is that his name is Veraxsis"
"Yes, I know that, I just mean ... what will he be like'' you try to explain while your gaze returns to the stars.
Tech remained silent for a few moments before he began to reply "From our previous discussions you had mentioned that you were never in connection with the Onyx Monolith aside from your Fiance. Is this the source of your worries?"
"Something like that" you nod, "I wonder if they know about me at all".
"I do not have enough information to properly reassure you, but Hunter and I will be negotiating. If you wish to be present you may, but it is not necessary."
"Actually, I would like to be present. If you don't mind. I can just join you, keep my helmet on and just stand like a pretend escort."
"Alright. I will inform Hunter that you wish to join us. However, if you change your mind please let me know. I do not want to put you or either of us in danger".
