[ MADDIE ]

"Maddie," my best friend Paige yells awakening me from my nap. Well i don't know if it was  the yelling that woke me up or the agressive shaking that came with it.

"What do you want?" I question, annoyance evident in my tone. I'm still extremely tired and the last thing on earth I want to do right now is be awake.

"We're here," she cheers excitedly. I shift up in my car seat and begin to take in my surroundings. I realize it's sunnier than usual and there are palm trees everywhere.

It seems that Paige and I have arrived in our new home, Los Angeles, California.

Who would've guessed that Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni would let her daughter move to the other side of the country for university.

I was shocked to say the least when she said yes. I honesty didn't expect her to and told Paige not to even bother asking her. But thanks to my best friend's hopefulness and my mother's out of character lenience, I find myself here in Los Angeles.

"Maddie!" Paige exclaims loudly trying to snap me out of my thoughts. Just because she is use to my constant zoning out, doesn't mean it doesn't annoy her to bits. I look up at her attentively to show her I'm actually listening now.

"Can we please get out of this car now, I'm fucking hot,"she groans in annoyance before basically throwing the door open and jumping out of her black Range Rover.

"Right," I agree nodding my head. I hop out of the passenger seat and walk around to the trunk of Paige's car which she is in the middle of opening up.

I grab my luggage out of her trunk and start taking in my surroundings again.

"It's really nice here," I remark and Paige begins nodding her head in agreement.

"Yea, I like way better than plain ol' Pittsburgh," she sneers as she continues to unload her suitcases from her car.

Pittsburgh was an alright place to grow up in my opinion, but Paige hated it with a passion. I think the reason for her animosity towards Pittsburgh is because it houses the Abby Lee Dance Company.

The Abby Lee Dance Company has caused us both so much pain. It even split up our friendship at one point.

When Paige and her sister Brooke left the studio, I was forbade to talk to them or associate with them whatsoever, thus, ending our friendship. Eventually, I came to my damn senses and realized no dance career was worth losing the best friend in the world and I quit dance as well. The two of us have been inseparable ever since.

Once Paige finally unloads her millions of suitcases from her trunk, we begin walking up to the front of what I guess is our new house.

"Josh!" Paige yells banging heavily on the door, "open up."
