Being taken hostage by Wen Ruohan's army was not the plan. But nevertheless reality.
Nie Mingjue, you and few other soldiers were presented in front of him like you all were some artefact from museum.
The Head cultivator let out a mocking laugh, "Well, look who do we have here." He got up from his throne and walked up to you all, "The leader of 'sunshot' campaign, the head advisor and few loyal dogs." He drew in sharp breath, "Hua LanYing, daughter of legendary Ghost king Hua Cheng and heavenly officer Xie Lian." The way he addressed you sent shudder down your back. Was he this scary?
"A news flew, year ago, that during the discussion conference archery competition, a female Lan disciple asked to see Head Healer, my niece." On mention of Wen Qing, Nie Mingjue glared daggers at him. Ignoring that, Wen Ruohan continued as he walked around you all in slow pace, "They said that the cultivator needed to be stitched a deep gash running along her right palm to her wrist. I thought it is ought to be a naive kid, nothing else."
The clicks of his boots and the his talks, both are eerie and making you loose your calm gradually, "My Son, Wen Xu once told me when he attacked the Cloud recesses, a female Lan cultivator stopped him, even knocked him out. He too reported that she had a little different features and a scar, on same spot the other Lan disciple needed stitches."
"Congratulations, it was me. Haha. Great achievement and observation." You dry humoured which got you smack of sword butt in back of your head.
"Arrogant kid, not only I figured out that it was you, I figured out what you got there," he pointed at you hands, which were tied behind your back. "You are bounded by blood oath, which you have broken multiple times."
"What are you implying?!" Nie Mingjue was getting annoyed by his slow talking and monologue. To be honest, your boredom faded Second Wen Ruohan grabbed a dagger.
"I will show you what I'm implying. You see, blood oaths allows a person with other's blood to control their... blood, of course." Kneeling down in front of you, he brought the dagger to your left cheek, "It's a myth but I believe in trying before believing. So forgive me Lady Hua," he said as he made a deep cut undear your eyes. It was painful, but you determined no showing of any weakness. Wen Ruohan filled a small glass vile with your circulatory fluid.
"Sect leader, let me keep it safe." Meng yao tried but Wen Ruohan refused. Meng Yao had already pissed off Nie Mingjue enough by mocking his sabre and making him recall his past trauma. You weren't sure him being a loyal dog to Wen would help him.
He got up to the table and performed some sort of ritual, making pattern with your blood and at last activating it with spiritual energy. Tucking in the said paper under his outer robe, he cracked his knuckles.
"Let's see..." he raised his hand in the air and you felt a sharp tinge of pain. It was sudden so it caught you by surprise and you couldn't help but let out a sound of displeasure.
"Excellent." Wen a Ruohan smirked, "Not as per legend but, will do anyways. You two, untie her." He commanded the guards.
"But- yes Sect leader!" The two guards untied you. Due to your spiritual energy being locked, you cannot try and escape this situation even untied.
"Let's try again." You braced yourself. The pain started again from the old scar. You saw as the blood underneath, cuts open the skin like knife.
No! No! No! Please!
You begged to no one in particular. Why is this always happening to you? The cut first moved in path of old scar then started to dig new boundaries. You bit your lips and pressed your other hand over this one to stop the pain. The cut spread all across your arm and reached your neck. It's one branch took turn to your back and created more branches. Silent tears fell down but you didn't screamed. You won't scream! Collapsing on your knees, almost fell unconscious.
