I just sit in his office for what feels like hours
I yawn my eyes slowly closing
I get woken up by a loud bang

A gun shot.

I stand up and dart behind the desk
The doors swing open as colby runs in shooting someone in the process
"MAE."
Colby yells
I peek my head round as whoever he was shooting drops dead

"Hey darling"
He kneels down next to me
"You ok?"
I nod and brush myself off
"What happened"
I ask with a hint of uncertainty
"Nothing doll dont worry"

Something was different
Did he call me darling?
Thats unusual for him
He always calls me doll.
Its like... he had this hidden attraction to me
One that hes not gonna tell me about

"Its ok doll you can leave now"
I nod and stand up trying to avert my eyes from the blood that covered his body and the corpse lying on the floor

We eventually get to his car and i slump into the seat
Colby changes his shirt
His figure catches my attention
A bright red colour appears on my cheeks
He sits back in the seat next to me and starts the car

I try cover my blush but he seems to be amused and places his hand gently on my upper thigh
I freeze as he draws circles lightly on my skin with his ring finger

We pull up at an empty parking garage on the other side of town
"Why are we here?"
I mumble as i chew on my sleeve slightly
"Dont worry darling its just a little deal i made with some 'colleagues' i wont be long"
He opens the car door to be greeted by a tall slender man wearing a black suit
He hands the man a parcel then shuts the door and waits for the man to walk off

As soon as the mans gone he turns to me
I must have looked either really afraid or pretty because he let out a small chuckle
"Dont worry doll"

Now i got it.
Whenever he would call me doll it would be for show
But when he called me darling he meant it

As soon as the coast was clear he grabs my chin and plants a kiss on my jawline
I just freeze as my whole body trembles

God he had a hold on me
I died ever time he touched me
My body felt electric
My eyes grew wide as my heart beat loudly

My body still trembled when he pulled away
He drives the car out of the garage and back home
"I know you secretly liked that darling"
I let out a small murmur
He just laughs

"I can give you more when were home"
I nod slowly
"I have a question."
I mumble
He nods and looks over at me without swerving once
"Why do you only call me doll if someone can hear but call me darling everywhere else"
He laughs and focuses back on the road

"I cant show weakness darling you know that."
He sighs
"I wish i could call you that all the time babe"
