Mike's Pov:

"Abby. Abby wake up. You gotta go to school. Oh come on. Get up and get ready" I say as my sister lays in her small fort of stuff animals.

I sigh and head out as I decide to pop back into the room for a moment.

"Five minutes. You hear me? " I say as I then leave. She'll be ready soon. She always ends up following my directions.

I get dressed for work with a small sigh. I tend to sigh a lot, then again nothing in my life has gone smoothly since... Since... Well... Since a certain point.

I had a friend back then. Her name was Y/n. My parents forced me to stop talking to her after that certain point.

I head to work as I go to order my usual at a place in the mall. I work mall security. It's an okay job... But it puts food on the table and pays the bills.

I see a boy out of the corner of my eye get yanked by some older man. I can't tell if that's his dad. No. It can't be. It looks like he is kidnapping him!

Without taking another moment to think, I leap out onto the tiles of the floor as my boots make a small squeaking sound. The floor must have been cleaned recently. I start bolting towards the man as I push others aside to give me a clear path.

Him and the boy are near the fountain as I pounce onto the man. Water splashes all around us as people start shouting for me to stop hitting him.

It was only at the point that I was pulled away that I noticed that boy was shouting for me to stop hitting his dad...

I was told to go to some man named Steve. I really don't want to... But I gotta check in with him cause of me loosing my job and stuff.

I enter the room as he smiles.

"Ah... We meet again" he says as I sit down at his desk.

"It appears so... " I say.

"Attacking the father of a boy in broad daylight" he says as I sit there quietly.

"Listen... I just need a job" I say as he sighs.

"I can get you one. It's a security gig" he says.

"I can't work nights" I say.

"Call me when you change your mind" he says as I head to the Child Protection Agency office.

I sit next to my aunt as she tries to explain that she wants full custody of Abby. I barely got sleep last just due to my dreams, and due to the fact that I had to deal with the police yesterday evening.

I ended up getting fired from my job... Which means I'll struggle with bills and stuff for my sister.

"I'm going to get a job soon. Then we will be okay" I say as I leave the office.

That night I head home and I say hi to the babysitter Max. I toss the eviction notice that was on the front door into a drawer as I continue through the house.

"Did she eat? " I ask as she just looks at me.

"What do you think? " she asks as I sigh and head to Abby's room.

She seems to be drawing again.

"Go eat dinner" I say as she shakes her head.

I sit down on her bed and wait.

"You're sitting on my friend! " she says as I sigh.

I think I'll be taking that job at this rate... Cause what the hell.

I call up Steve and the next night I head out to the place it's called Freddy's Family Diner and it has been abandoned for years.

I unlock the doors with the key as I slip inside. It's cold and musty. Not to mention the lights are acting up.
