"Everything seems okay. Her vitals look good. She's able to be discharged tonight if she pleases." The voice startled Olivia awake, causing her eyes to snap open. Standing bedside were two nurses and a doctor who stared down at her with a smile. "You gave us quite a scare there, Ms. Friedman." Word continued to spill from his lips, but Olivia took in her surroundings instead, noticing the television was set on Law & Order: SVU.
In the corner of her eye, she saw a blob of yellow. It was a bouquet of freshly clipped sunflowers in a glass vase beside her bed. A small smile crept at the sight of them. "Where's my fiancé?" Olivia finally spoke, finding the doctor's curious stare. "Bobby Mercer. Where is he?"
The doctor hesitated. "Your fiancé and his brothers were taken away by the police about two hours ago," he confessed. "Right now, I'm more concerned about you and the fetus."
"You just said I could leave tonight," Olivia pressed, sitting up from the bed. A pointed glare was sent to the doctor. "Discharge me now. I need to find my family." Olivia gave no warning when she pulled off the tape from her hand, removing the IV - and ripping the lines for the heart monitor. Both nurses lurched forward. Their efforts were halted.
"Ms. Friedman, I don't think -"
"I'm sorry, doctor, but I couldn't give two shakes of a rat's ass what you think." Olivia rose to her feet, determined to find her clothes, leave the hospital, and head straight for the police station, where she knew the Mercer brothers were being held up. Knowing there was no fighting with her, the doctor removed himself from the room, instructing the nurses to watch the patient. Olivia dressed, and the doctor returned with the discharge papers by the time she was done.
Without another word, Olivia snatched the papers from his hands and left the hospital.

"His name is Jeremiah Mercer, and I want to see him now!"
Olivia entered the Detroit Police Department, immediately recognizing Camille's raised voice, demanding to see her husband. Sofie's voice echoed. The officer behind the counter looked agitated and too busy for the drama but kept his composure during the tongue-lashing. Luckily for him, Olivia was coming to his rescue.
Holding her badge, the woman pushed between Sofie and Camille, forcing her best smile.
"What can I do for you?" the officer asked with the same level of annoyance as his expression.
Her eyes narrowed. She'd known the boys long enough to know there would be no tangible evidence pointing them to Sweet's demise. Law enforcement had nothing to detain the brothers - meaning the brothers could walk whenever they wanted. Did they know this tidbit of information? Probably not.
"Jeremiah, Angel, and Bobby Mercer are in your custody. I'm here to take them home," Olivia informed him with a cocky grin. "Let's not pretend you know the law better than me. I was in the police academy when you were still making your G.I. Joe dolls have sex with your sister's Barbies." Snickers from Camille and Sofie were heard from behind Olivia, causing her grin to grow. "Tell that fat fuck, Randall, if he doesn't release the boys, this precinct will be hit with a lawsuit so hard, I will own it."
The officer realized it was a losing battle - without a word, he turned on his heel, disappearing behind a corner. With a victorious smile, Olivia turned and placed her elbows against the counter, holding out her hands for the two other women. They high-fived, giving silent congratulatory praises. Just hours prior, the family lacked confidence in the success of the plan. Even Olivia couldn't quiet the whisper in the back of her head questioning if things would play out correctly. But there they stood, waiting for their men. In a few short minutes, they were all going to be free.
