The usual info. Please read. This book replaces Ice because I wasn't feeling it.

It's rated M14+ because it has some violence and gore in it.

Anyways...enjoy!

Prologue

When the Marauder had touched down on Pabu, Phee stood anxiously, waiting to see if the Bad Batch's mission had been successful.

Phee clutched Tech's broken goggles close to her heart, careful not to cut herself with the broken glass. He was gone, but she still couldn't believe it.

So when Wrecker carried out an unconscious Tech, screaming for medical help, Phee's heart almost stopped.

"Tech!" She cried, running towards him as AZI and a few doctors ran towards them.

Phee touched Tech's neck to feel a pulse. It was there, but it was weak. Alarmingly weak. Tech's skin was a sickly grey, his skin cold to the touch. Phee had never seen Tech without his goggles, and she thought he looked quite handsome, but this was hardly the time.

The doctors had rushed Tech to surgery. Tech's body was failing him, his injuries were severe and he had a high chance of dying, but he did have a fighting chance.

💘

Phee sat by Tech's bedside. The surgery had lasted a whole 24 hours. His left arm and right leg had already been amputated by the Empire, but not replaced with cybernetics, so they gave him the cybernetics. Cybernetic implants had been put in his spine to help him walk, but even still, he'd have to relearn how to walk. Right now, Tech was on the ventilator, which helped him breathe while he was in his comatose state.

She took his hand into hers, his skin not as grey as it had been, but it still wasn't tan. Phee liked to think that Tech's skin was more sun-kissed than his brothers, but the same as Omega's. Tech was wearing a hospital gown, which was open at the front, exposing his chest. A thin red line ran down the length of it. She sighed before leaving him be.

She walked outside to see Omega talking with Lyana. The two spent lots of time together, and talked about lots of things. Omega had never been happy since they got back from Tantiss. Her usual happy smile was replaced with a ghosted smile.

"Hey girls," Phee said, walking over.

"Hi," both Lyana and Omega said.

"How are you?" Phee asked.

"Getting there," Omega said, fidgeting with her fingers. "Is...Tech okay?"

"He's still asleep, but stable," Phee said.

"Do you think people in comas...dream?" Omega asked.

"I—don't know...do you think they do?" Phee asked.

"Maybe," Omega said. "Can I see him?"

Phee nodded, leading them towards Tech. Lyana held Omega's hand tightly as she saw her unconscious brother.

The Empire had stopped him from dying the first time, but he got injured during their escape...and the Empire had only healed him enough to live. She remembered them cutting his leg and arm off while he was wide awake. She remembered his agonising screams as they did so, not caring to sedate him. She remembered him screaming until his voice was hoarse, and him writhing in pain as they continued to cut...until finally he lost consciousness.

It was horrible to watch and her heart broke with every scream he let out. There was so much blood too, and she had been forced to watch, her head held in place.

Omega sighed, looking over at Crosshair who lied on the bed on the opposite side of the room. Crosshair and Tech were twins. They shared a special bond that any other sibling could never replicate.

Much like Tech, Crosshair was weak and dying when they found him, broken from Dr Hemlock's experiments. Omega remembered when Crosshair and Tech were babies and young kids.

They couldn't be separated. They had to be in the same room, same crib or bed together and they'd cry and scream if they got separated. It got better when they were older. They acted like they only had each other in this world. Crosshair would always protect Tech when the Regs bullied Tech. He'd sit with Tech when he had his panic attacks and help him stop violently hurting himself due to his autism.

Recovery was a long road for Tech. Longer for any of the rest of his family. Even Crosshair.

She just hoped he'd make it.

I hope you guys like this! This is strictly the Bad Batch...I think...we'll see *winks*. The first few chapters will probably be SHORT but it will get llllooooonnnnggggeeerrr. lol. The reason being Tech will only be waking up for short periods of time, but as he progresses down his recovery road, he'll be awake for much longer.

Love ya'll!
