They say that an average butterfly has an adult life span of 2 weeks or less. Vanessa Cardui lived for a full year in the wild. The butterfly is also known as the "Painted Lady." Vanessa Cardui's scientific name is the Rhopalocera. This butterfly had a name, because it lived so long. Vanessa is like my parents. One year they're there, the next they're gone. My parents died in 1998 of a car crash. Supposedly, a drunk driver hit them. The car flipped over and, the injuries were so emergent, my parents left this universe. They left me alone, to figure out the world by myself.
