you don't think you had ever wanted to be with a boy more than you did seok matthew.
he was a dream in every sense of the word.
you had had a grand total of zero conversations with him due to the fact that just like any sane girl did with the guy they liked, you completely and utterly ignored him.
that was until the most dreadful, embarrassing day of your life.
you had been going to the gym much more often recently. you made a vow to yourself to stay healthy throughout the year in january and you had seen that through. also the fact that matthew was a frequent gym goer may have had a little something to do with it too.
you would come up with the cutest outfits you could muster, well the cutest athletic wear could get and get your workout done but you almost never saw matthew.
so nobody could blame you for not caring about your surroundings when your best friend calls.
you're on the treadmill walking at steady pace and an incline of 12 when you pick up the phone. you ensure your airpods are in and you press answer.
your phone is propped up on the little phone rest infront of the treadmill controls and your screen is immediately overtaken with your best friend tsuki's face.
she waved widely. "y/n."
"hey." you smiled at her, you could practically feel her excitement and it made you giggle.
"why are you so giddy, what happened?" you asked curiously, placing your hands on the hand rests to keep yourself steady as you grew tired.
"guess who just got us invited to an alpha zero frat party?" tsuki folded her arms, mouth pursing into a tight lipped smile to contain her excitement.
she pointed at herself two seconds later not even allowing you to guess. "me! i did!"
you're in disbelief and your stomach is already in knots because that was matthew's frat and he would for sure be there.
tsuki is expecting you to hop off the treadmill and do a happy dance but you just keep walking, your face remaining in a neutral expression whilst lost in thought so she frowns.
"where's my 'thank you tsuki you're the best friend ever i love you the most in the entire world?'." she sighed dramatically and you could only gulp.
"okay excuse me for not falling to my knees and trying to virtually kiss your feet but i'm nervous! matthew will be there." you said.
tsuki picked up her phone and walked to her kitchen and all you could see was the neckline of her sweater as she spoke.
"well duh that's exactly why you should be excited." she dropped her phone on the counter and started rummaging through her pantry.
