3RD POV

In the past few days, Salem has been visiting Vivian often. They became friends quickly because they got along well. It made a big difference in Salem's life. His way of looking at the world changed, and as the days went by, he started to see things in a new way. Vivian's willingness to talk to Salem made their relationship stronger. Whereas his relationship with Koyou was still the same, both males disliked each other.

In the mornings and afternoons Salem spends most of his time to visit Vivian. Gradually he started to be fond of her. What puzzled him was that his heart raced when she was around. This was strange because when he liked someone before, his heart didn't race like this. Vivian's presence had a unique effect on him.

When it came to Koyou, he disliked Salem visiting his territory. When he watches Salem's presence in the morning it would ruin part of his day. Whenever the two feline orcs crossed paths, they invariably engaged in heated arguments. Their bitter conflicts were so routine that it resembled the squabbles of siblings.

Although Koyou loved Vivian a lot, seeing Salem with his precious wife made him feel jealous. The only male who should be on Vivian's side was him. Koyou believes that he Vivian's her favorite in the world.

Koyou knew that eventually his wife would accept Salem. He accepted the fact that there will be other males coming in the picture. Like every beastmen, he felt jealous. There will be another male in his wife's heart.

But strangely, after watching his wife and Salem for a couple of days, Koyou realizes that his wife's love will remain unchanged. At one point, he felt foolish for thinking her love would fade and that he had to win her favor like most other males.

He understands that no matter how many males she accepts, he doesn't need to worry about his wife. The only challenge he might face in the future is competing with other males for her attention.

Koyou chuckled as he thought about the upcoming competition. He was eager to compete with other males for his wife's affection. He felt sure that he would win and become her favorite.

He gazed back at the cave where his wife and Salem were. He stood outside in front of their den, building a wooden table to replace the one that got damaged during his and Salem's  fight. This happened when he accidentally punched the table during their afternoon fistfight. He and Salem fought because they argued with each other, not believing each other's words on how beautiful Vivian was. Both orcs saw Vivian as a powerful goddess who had blessed them. They were deeply in love with her and cared for her a lot.

Whenever they talked about Vivian, both Koyou and Salem's words about her felt like a competition. Instead of physical fighting like they did not the past, they engaged in a battle of words, trying to outdo each other with compliments for Vivian.

(TIME PASSED)

After a couple hours passed, the sun slowly began setting. Inside the cave there were three orcs having dinner. The atmosphere inside was lively as the two feline beastmen were chattering with each other, as if they were brothers. Vivian smiles, letting out a laugh by how funny the two orcs were.

Koyou couldn't complete the wooden table, so he had to improvise. He found some furniture around their den to use as a temporary table for their dinner. While Koyou was setting up the table, Vivian and Salem began working together to prepare dinner.

When everything was all set up, dinner was finally served. The air smelled delicious with juicy sausages, roasted chicken, beef stew, and soft, buttery stone fruit bread. Salem, who sat with the two of them, was reluctant to eat. After all, this was the first time Vivian had invited him to sit and have dinner with them. It was very lucky as this meant that Vivian was starting to accept him, which made Salem happy.
