I sighed as I turn the volume up on my phone, letting the music flow through my earbuds, I could hear the faint noise of rain pounding against the truck and also the faint noise of my little sister and mom arguing about something stupid, as pure usual.
I didn't really wanna move to Germany but it also really wasn't my decision, i didn't have much of a choice, so there wasn't any reason to fight against it and stress myself out. Maybe Germany wouldn't be to bad, maybe I'll met some friends but I'll probably have to learn German first.
We had rode on a plane for about 14 hours and then we've been in the car for about 6, I was tired and everyone was getting on my nerves a little.
I smiled in relief as we pulled into the driveway of our new house, i couldn't get that much of a look at it since the rain against the window was kind of making it blurry, i grabbed my umbrella and got out of the truck, the instant smell of rain and soil filled my nose, it was relaxing to say the least. I finally got a better look at the house as I started walking towards the front door, my legs were sore from sitting for to long, it was your typical one story house, it was simple, I liked it, I heard the rest of my family getting out of the car and rushing to the front door, my dad scrambled to get the key from his pocket, he pulled the key out and unlocked the door, pushing it open, i walked in after every one else did, the inside was simple, it looked similar to our house in Mississippi actually, I walked past the living room and down the hall, I heard my my sister say something about her picking her room, I then felt her run behind me rushing to one of the rooms.
"Rivers slow down before you fall!," I say to her as she rushed into one of the rooms. "Uh! I'm fine laney, worry about yourself!" I heard rivers yell back, I rolled my eyes, she sure did have a lot of attitude for a 9 year old.
I walked into one of the room, it was right beside the room I suppose rivers was picking, the room wasn't too small or to big, it was perfect, i sigh tiredly as I lay on the carpet of the floor, I felt as if I could fall asleep right now.
"Do you like it?" I heard a familiar voice from behind me say, my mom, I lean up from the floor slightly and look up at her, "I do actually," I say softly as I rub my eyes, my mom smiles, "I'm glad you do, i know you're tired, we all are but we need to get some of the boxes out of the truck and then we can rest, alright?" My mom says softly, "okay," I say softly with a nod as I stand up and walk out of the room and towards the front door, the raining had stopped making it humid outside, I hated the humidity, I had dark brown curly hair so the humidity was a slight problem for me and it was also kind of suffocating.
I walked towards the back of the truck and opened the trunk door and started grabbing boxes, after a grabbed a few and headed back to the front door, my mom held open the door for me as I walked in, I placed the boxes down in the living room before heading back out the door to grab the last few of the boxes, after I grabbed the boxes, I headed back towards the front door, which my mom was holding open for me, i placed the boxes down beside the other ones, I grab which boxes were mine and head to my room and place the boxes down.
I looked at the box that said 'pictures' on it, I open the box and dig through the box finding the picture of me and my real dad on my first birthday.
My mom and dad got divorced when I was 3, my mom got remarried to my stepdad and my dad got remarried to my stepmom, tears swelled in my eyes, I was gonna miss my dad a lot, he lived in Alabama, I wasn't ever really going to see him, I felt the stray tear fall down my cheek as I continued to look at the picture, I wiped the tear away and put the picture back in the box, my eyes felt heavy and droopy, i really needed sleep, I grab the box the said 'blankets and pillows' I grab a pillow and blanket from the box, I lay the pillow down and then lay down on the soft carpet and pull the blanket over me, I felt the tiredness fully taking over me, I was close to falling asleep.
I then heard a faint yell from my sister saying something I couldn't really understand but then yelled something else I could understand.
"Uh I hate it here!" I heard the faint noise of my sister yell, it made a slight smile come to my face as I had fully fallen asleep, maybe this wouldn't be to bad after all...
