dressed like a princess

"My mate, huh? Maybe he has someone he thought was more perfect than me?" I quietly whispered with a careless laugh to their hearing.

One of the maids grabbed my shoulder hard and said seriously, "If there is a possibility of that, then your mate is blind because you're truly one of the most beautiful women I've ever met." She said and quickly covered her lips, which made me amused inwardly, only if she knew that my mate was their Alpha king.

Her hands flew to cover her mouth. "Oops, sorry for the curse word." She apologized, and I shrugged it off nonchalantly.

They were right after all. I am more beautiful than Lorelei, and Alpha Lorelei wasn't only dumb; he was blind.

'Our mate isn't blind,' a provoked Maia growled at me.

'Does that mean we are the ugly ones?' I teased her in return, which made her flare up.

Maia scolded me a lot before she clarified with a grumble, 'Our perfect mate isn't blind, and we're the most beautiful women in the world.' After completing her words, she blocked me and retreated into my mind, which made me stifle a chuckle.

Fay began to dry my wet, long, and curly hair that fell past my shoulder.

Earlier, she told me Beta Wyatt permitted me to choose the style I wanted to go with tonight. So when Fay asked what hairstyle I wanted, I told her I'd love my hair to be straightened and fall past my shoulder.

Mom had always done that to me when she was alive. She'll patiently comb my hair and tell me how soft and silky it is and how running her hand through it makes her day.

"How can your hair feel so perfect? So smooth like silk." One of them commented, touching my hair again, which almost brought a smile to my face.

However, I kept quiet and kept a straight face until they were done with everything. It was quite funny how I didn't feel tired from their care; instead, I felt so energized and eager for the night.

I can't wait to get dressed like a princess.

Slowly, I yawned and closed my eyes, trying to fall asleep. However, I couldn't do so because my mind kept wandering about.

"She's so quiet, beautiful, and pitiful. So closed up. I wondered what Maia must have gone through." Fay said with a sigh after a few minutes of me closing my eyes.

They were talking about me because they thought I was asleep. Although I wanted to tell them I was not, I knew they would feel awkward once they saw that I was not. It's not as if they were talking badly about me, so I kept quiet.

"Beta Williams arranged an off-shoulder dress; however, because of Maia, he requested one of the most expensive malls to send that limited edition long-sleeved lace gown that only had a piece in the world. How gentlemanly of him." One of the women spoke with adoration for Beta Wyatt.

"I think Maia and Beta Wyatt would look like a perfect couple by the night. I'm so excited." Fay whispered as if she didn't want to wake me up, excitement in her voice.

"Yeah. Me too. It's such a pity they aren't mates." The woman who said my mate must be blind said

It was underestimated to say that I was shocked by Beta Wyatt's act after hearing what Fay and the other woman said.

I didn't expect Wyatt to do so much for me because I've always taken him as a stranger who has always revealed nothing but coldness.

Beta Wyatt is just the best man I have ever met, except for Dad. How nice will it be if I am his mate?

I never expected myself to say this, but compared to the heartless Oswald, I'd rather go with Beta Wyatt, who hugged me earlier and told me I could cry it out.
