Harry
I finally compose myself before I come back into the room where the young girl is sitting. Carl must've gone to arrange where she will be staying. I feel my stomach sink when I get a good look at her face, she has obviously been abused. Eyes sunken in, hair matted, and emaciated. She looks like I did whenever Heinrich decided it was time to punish me for a good amount of time. Kit would try to stop it, but my father would manipulate him in ways to where he made him think he wasn't doing anything wrong. Especially when Kit went to the military academy. He came home once to find me starving in my bedroom, where I was told to not leave unless told so. Heinrich was so drunk that he forgot to feed me and let me out before Kit came home. Kit was furious. It felt like thanksgiving when I was finally fed, Kit never left after that. I clear my throat before sitting next to her, she shuffles away uncomfortably.
"Hello," I offer a soft smile even though she isn't looking at me, "I am Harry. Your name is Scarlett? That's a beautiful name. How old are you?" She reminds me a lot of Aurora, not with looks but with her presence. She seems gentle, soft, fragile. How could someone hurt someone so pure? Someone who is not ready for the evil that is in this world? Scarlett looks at me with her eyes that look painfully tired.
"I'm not really ready for small talk, can I please sleep?" She questions seriously, not with an attitude, but with a strong tone in her voice.
"Yes, I will call some handmaids to help you get comfortable." I stand smiling again at her gently and she grabs my hand quickly before I walk away. I feel the crisp edge of a piece of paper be passed from her hand to mine and I look at her confused.
"The man who took me told me to give this to you." Is all she says before she looks down at her lap and refuses to speak anymore. I rush out of the room and call for handmaids before haphazardly running to find Kit. I yell his name going through the guest wing of the castle and I slam into the person I least expected.
"Whoa there Princey, looking for someone?" Percy's voice annoyingly chirps into my ear. I push past all of the anger that rushed through my body and move past him quickly. He says my name a few times but I just ignore him. Screw off douche face, I'll figure out why you're here later.
"What is this?" Kit asks, coming out of the bathroom tousling his hair with a towel, Hyacinthus looks at him with a glint in his eye. I can't tell if they were just fighting or screwing but I don't want to know.
"The young girl that Baron kidnapped gave it to me," I slapped my hands on my thighs, "said that Baron said to give it to me." I shrugged feeling all of the anxiety rush through me, but trying to stay calm. What could he want? What does this letter say? Kit is taking his sweet time with his hair which makes my anxiety worse. "Just read it!" I yell making Hy jump, and Kit has a smug look on his face. He opens the note quickly and crumples it up before throwing it in the trash. I look between him and the trash can and feel like I am going to have an aneurysm. I yell at him and tackle him to get to the trash but he pushes me away.
"Not worth reading, Harry." He shakes his head at me and I get as close to his face as I can.
"If it is about protecting my unborn child and wife, yes it is. Let me read it." I push my chest against his and he sighs before backing down. I have become more aggressive since Artemis has been getting more and more pregnant. Protective you could say. I assume it's because I will protect my family at all costs. I quickly grab the letter before Kit changes his mind and de-crumbled it.
