(I STARTED WRITING MOST OF THIS IN JUNE 2015 MKAY?)
You promise you'll be home by Christmas right daddy?" Little May Ackerman said into the phone as her daddy stood in line at the airport.
"Of course love, I'll be right there on Christmas morning with you." Levi said softly to his daughter.
May squealed happily on the other line. "Yay~! I can't wait to see you, it's been a few days and grandma is making me look at baby pictures of you." She whispered into the phone.
Levi chuckled and sighed as the line started getting shorter. "I have to go love, time to get on the plane. Be good."
"I will! Have a safe trip." May said into the phone and hung up a second later.
Levi slid his phone into his pocket and he bit his lip. He noticed people getting off of the line and sighed. A huge sign above his flight name said, 'Delayed due to snowfall'. Levi groaned as the flight attendants led him out of line into the waiting area.
"How long will I have to wait?" He asked, irritated.
"It's undetermined. We'll have to see when the snow stops."
Levi groaned and nodded. He waited hours for any word on the snow and heard none. He knew his mom, May's grandma, would have to be leaving to head home. She had plans for Christmas.
Levi knew he'd need a last minute babysitter and thought about his neighbors. They had a son in college. He had heard the boy was going in for teaching.
Levi met the boy when he had just gotten together with May's mother. She wasn't even born yet, now she's 6. Eren was probably about 10 years old when they first met and was 12 when May was born.
Of course, Levi's relationship with May's mother was over just after she was born.
Levi and May's mother were never really together. The man wasn't even straight.
It was just a random hookup on a drunken night. He was in his mid twenties during that time with May's mother and had just hit 30.
It felt weird watching his neighbor's son grow up. He got tall (and muscular) it was noticeable from afar.
He'd never seen his face close up since Eren was a kid. The only thing he could remember was his beautiful eye color.
Levi mentally slapped himself as he searched for Eren's parents' number in his phone.
Once he found it he pressed call. After a few rings someone picked up.
"Hello?" A voice said on the other line, it definitely wasn't Mr. or Mrs. Jaeger."
"Uh hey, it's Levi Ackerman your neighbor. Is this uh..Eren?" He asked awkwardly.
"Yeah it's Eren, what do you need?" Eren couldn't help but get slightly excited hearing Mr. Ackerman's voice on the other line. When he met the man when he was only a kid he couldn't help but crush hard on him all through middle school and high school. He left for college and still thought Levi was one of the hottest men out there.
"My daughter needs a babysitter last minute. My mother's been watching her but she has to leave. I was supposed to be home by tonight, but my flights been delayed. Can you watch her for me?"
Eren knew he'd have to take the chance of getting to be in Levi's home. "Sure, should I go over now?"
Levi sighed in relief. "Thanks Eren, and yeah. I'll call the house and let them know you're coming."
Eren showed up minutes later just as Levi's mother stepped out. "May is upstairs coloring."
Eren nodded and walked inside. "Hey May! I'm Eren." He walked into the pink room and looked around.
