Spiders and Sorrow

Chapter One - The Extinction

       Long ago, we're a species called Arachnos. They were hybrids, a mix of human and spider, a very hated animal. Therefore, making them, a very disliked species. The world leaders from every corner of the earth, met to discuss what they could do to these disgusting monsters.

     One came up with an idea. He was a tall frail fellow, and a very intelligent person. He was a man of science, and he rubbed his grey beard as he thought on how to present this idea.

"Fellow comrades, I am to present a thought." he announced, his voice gruff and deep, "We simply make them extinct. Wipes them off the face of the Earth, and then, we lie to the public."

     Now, my dear reader, you may be thinking, this is a reasonable decision, as they are, indeed, alien in the minds of humans.

    Arachnos are a human figure, with various skin tones ranging from reds and purples to blues and greens. Often they have black or white markings on their skin too, in various shapes. They have eight eyes, four on each side. The one at the top, just below the eyebrows, is the biggest eye, while the one in line with the lips is the smallest. Their hair is natural and in various colours too, but not typically the same as their skin.

     They all have different abilities, like poison, acidic saliva, healing properties and extra legs which they can create, but they all share one. Webs. They can create thin lines of silk which they can carry their bodies and alot more on top of that! It's truly marvelous!

   They weren't violent. Never. They were very developed however live like normal people. Humanity was scared. They didn't want to be overthrown by species they didn't even know of until the recent times. That would be tremendously pathetic.

      And that is why the scientific world leader, Rumpus, decided to propose the idea of making them extinct; and, unfortunately, humanity sided with this decision, and the few that disagreed, were called out for crime, despite it being nothing more than an opinion.

      They began to break into Aracnos' villages, burning the houses and murdering the families and residents.   Females were tortured, men were slaughtered and children were beaten.

This was no way to live. Something had to be done.
