One year ago...

Raindrops careened in rivulets down the windowpane, glistening as they fell. The warmth that spread through her body as she siphoned magic from within her locket settled the chills that arose on her arms as the cold air slipped into the room, nipping at her arms.

Lina's hands perspiring profusely as she sat in the circle of candles she'd placed. Her grimoire in front of her guided her through the steps of the spell. Her skin was beginning to prickle with sweat as the heat from the flames washed over her.

The sound of the shutters reverberating off each other due to shaking from the wind filled her ears. Her home was so silent and barren that you could hear a hairpin drop.

Placing a bracelet in the herb-filled bowl, followed by aconite, she muttered the spell that would make the accessory conceal her scent from the werewolves, which she had just found out attended the same school.

Earlier that day...

The ringing of her phone blaring throughout the room, brought Lina out of her dreamless sleep. After feeble attempts to drown out the sound, she shut it off, being enveloped in silence with only the sound of her breathing to be heard.

When she was done staring at the ceiling for a couple of minutes, she heaved herself out of bed, the room spinning as she stood up. After getting dressed, she brushed her hair out, and grabbing her backpack, heading out the door.

Golden leaves fell from brittle branches, dancing in a crazed frenzy with each howl of wind, a flush spreading across Lina's cheeks. The dew drops of the morning grass clung to her shoes with each step taken; the imprints of a boot's outsole are all that are left behind as evidence of someone's presence.

She continued walking until the school slowly came into view, getting larger as she approached. Going up the steps towards the front entrance and walking through the doors, she made her way through the hall, trying to stay out of everybody's way.

Standing at her locker, getting the necessary materials, she surveyed the halls inundated with students. Eyes jumping from people who'll be out of here soon enough, to freshman who'll be here for the next four years.

As the bell rang, she speedily walked towards her first class of the day. Opting to sit in the fourth row - not the very last but not too up front - she patiently waited for class to begin. Lina was brought out of her thoughts by a shift around her, a magic shift.

Swiveling her head around to try and detect where, more importantly who it was emanating from, she spotted a boy with hair that made her believe he could've been in a boy band.

Seriously?!? WEREWOLVES???
