"𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 (𝐘/𝐍) 𝐆𝐈𝐑𝐋 𝐈𝐒 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐘 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐄𝐓," kayano began. "i've only seen her talking with karma."

"maybe she's shy," nagisa suggested.

"i think karma would be the last person someone shy would gravitate towards," sugino scratched the back of his head.

everyone was trying to figure out groups for the big overnight kyoto field trip that was held for the third years. you just assumed you wouldn't be able to participate due to being in e-class.

"hey, (Y/N), karma!" nagisa called out to the two of you. you were already talking with karma at your desks. "come join our group, we've got more than enough room.

"yeah, sure thing," karma got up and began walking towards the group, you followed behind him.

"okay, okay, (Y/N)'s no issue, but karma.. you're going to behave yourself, right? no funny business? no getting into fights and all that stuff?" sugino asked.

"don't worry about it, when i stir up trouble out of town, let's just say i know how to keep witnesses from reporting it."

"alright so me, sugino, nagisa, karma, and (Y/N).." kayano listed you all off. "we should have room for a few more."

"no sweat, i foresaw this and took the liberty of enlisting someone very special. ladies and gentlemen, class idol, kanzaki!" sugino presented the girl to the group as if he was a cars salesman trying to get someone to purchase the latest model.

"oh, i'm totally for it!" kayano chirped. "i got the last person! okuda's in!"

koro-sensei gave you all 'fieldtrip guidebooks' that were about as thick as two dictionaries.

"that was.. nice of him," you flipped through the pages of the unnecessarily long guidebook.

"if nice means completely fucking pointless, than yeah, i guess so," karma responded as your group all sat around nagisa's desk, prepping what you would go and see on the fieldtrip.

☆。*。☆。

after the week leading up to the field trip passed, e-class was stuck in coach while the rest of the third years got first class and business seats.

there was only six chairs to a section on the train, your group had seven people. you squeezed next to kayano since the seats were large and she was petite. you would've killed to had gotten to okuda's seat next to karma.

"so, (Y/N), how are you liking everything so far?" kayano asked. "i know what it feels like to be new, i got here pretty late as well."

"i actually think i like it better than the main campus to be honest, everyone there is so bland," you laughed a bit. "but, gotta get back there sooner or later."

"what do you mean?" karma asked.

"i promised by parents i'd work as hard as i can to get back into at least c-class before graduation if possible. they worked really hard and paid a lot of money for me to go to school here," you explained.

"but you're still a kunugigaoka student, even in e-class," karma seemed genuinely confused as to why you would consider leaving the end class.

"i know, but still. it was just the agreement i made with them, work to get back onto the main campus or i'm grounded till i'm like in college."

"you'd seriously give up on ten billion? damn," sugino added.

"it's not like i'd be the one killing koro-sensei anyways," you rubbed the nape of your neck. "to be honest, i have no interest in killing him myself. sure, the money would be great but i'd just feel nothing but guilt if i were the one to do it."

"still a once in a lifetime opportunity, but suit yourself i guess," karma looked down at his phone, you couldn't help but feel tension coming from him.

after that, it wasn't long till you got to the inn. you couldn't help but feel envious of the main campus students who had gotten the opportunity to stay at a five-star hotel.

you were checking the place out with karma while the others were all in the lobby.

"it's definitely cozy," you tried to look on the brightside despite your jealousy.

"well, aren't you an optimist?"

"i try to be."

"why don't you go talk to kanzaki, kayano, and okuda? they seem to be interested in getting to know you, i'm fine on my own," he didn't mean to shoo you off, he was genuinely curious as to why you'd want to just walk around with him.

"because you were my friend first, i'm more comfortable with you i guess. i've got the rest of the time i'm here to get to know them."

"friends, huh? isn't that a mutual decision?"

"who the fuck asks out loud 'do you want to be friends' anymore? that's awkward. we're friends."

"well i guess that's a good thing," he chuckled. "nagisa wants to leave pretty early tomorrow morning, we finished up the plans while you and the rest of the girls were getting water."

"how early is early..?"

"what happened to miss optimism?" he teased.

"i didn't say it was a bad thing!"

"yeah, i'm sure you're stoked about leaving at six."

"six?!"

"i'm messing with you. we'll be out the door at eight, don't be late," he left you at the door to the girls' room.
