"You did great Young Midoriya! I'm so proud of you, my boy!" All Might praised clapping Izuku on the back as they walked through the park. Izuku preened at the praise, hiding his smile behind his cup of hot cocoa. Izuku had just been accepted into UA, having passed the entrance exam with flying colors, and All might, or Toshinori as he was in his normal form, had taken him out for food and a walk through the park to celebrate.

"Thank you, Yagi," Izuku mumbled and Toshi pulled him into a side hug as the continued walking. they walked quietly until they arrived at their usual spot, a bench overlooking the duck pond. Toshi sat down while Izuku knelt down and grabbed a couple rocks to skip in the pond.

Toshinori watched Izuku with pride, this was a boy he watched grow over a few years. The first time they met Izuku was 12, he had long curly hair and was wearing his school uniform, Izuku was in an alley way trying to change out of the skirt of his uniform into a pair of jeans. Toshinori stumbled into the alley way, having overdone his time in his All Might form and not seeing the preteen he shared the alley with he changed back to his skeleton form.

---

"A-All might?!" A shrill voice said, Toshinori jumped his head whipping up to meet the eyes of a preteen halfway through putting their belt on. Toshinori straightened up and rubbed the back of his neck. the kid was frozen in place letting Toshinori get a good look at them, they had long green hair pulled back into a braid, emerald green eyes holding an almost terrified look, and they wore a grey hoodie and were currently pulling the fly up on a pair of black jeans.

"uhm, how much of that did you see?" he asked nervously, turning away to give the kid some privacy, the kid finished putting on their belt before staring at Toshinori in amazement.

"All of it, are you alright? you got a bit of blood on your lips," the kid asked worriedly, Toshinori sighed wiping his mouth and looked back at the kid. The kid seemed skittish and unsure of what to do, they didn't even reach for their shoes next to their backpack, they instead stood barefoot shifting their weight from leg to leg.

"I'm alright, but could we keep this a secret?" Toshinori asked, the kid gained a small smile as they picked up their bag.

"I don't even know what I just saw, what would I have to tell?"

---

"Can I say you look mighty handsome today Midoriya." Toshinori teased, knowing Izuku loved and hated being complimented. Izuku rolled his eyes glaring at Toshi over his shoulder playfully. Izuku tossed his last rock into the pond before joining Toshi on the bench and taking a sip of his cocoa. They were quiet for a few minutes until Toshi looked at Izuku, "would it be alright if I asked about your mom?"

Izuku hummed staring at the pond, watching as a duck and her ducklings waddled into the pond.

"How'd she react to you being called Izuku in your acceptance letter?" Toshinori questioned, Izuku stayed silent for a few moments staring off into the pond before sighing and setting his cup on the ground and slumping against the bench.

"She didn't say anything, but she ignored me for the rest of the day and "forgot" to make me any dinner." Izuku used air quotes making Toshinori sigh, "and I didn't see her before I left this morning."

"I'm sorry Midoriya." Toshi gripped Izuku's shoulder comfortingly and Izuku just shrugged still looking towards the pond.

Inko wasn't a supportive mom, she almost kicked Izuku out when he accidently outed himself then she did the same after Izuku came home from cutting his hair short. She loved saying it was "just a phase" and that he'd grow out of it. Inko also told Izuku his soulmates would never love him once they knew about his "problem" as she called it. Toshinori knew it hurt Izuku more than he would ever tell him, it pained him to send Izuku home to her knowing she'd cut down any confidence Izuku had built up that day.

"Well, I got you a present," Toshi hummed making Izuku perk up and look at him, Toshinori smiled opening up his jacket to reach inside, he pulled out a present wrapped in All Might wrapping paper making Izuku snort as he grabbed it from Toshi. "it's small but I saw it and thought of you."

Izuku unwrapped the present and lit up, it was a small black journal with an intricate green flower design going up the spine and sprouting onto the front and back covers. "This is so cool, thank you Yagi!" Izuku gushed leaning over to hug Toshinori.

"I'm glad you like it." Toshi chuckled hugging Izuku back. "How about we finish our walk, you can tell me what you're going to write in it."

Izuku stood in the kitchen staring blankly at his mother as she berated him for any little thing that came to mind, over the past few months her behavior towards him had become more violent. Inko would throw things at him and hit him when she couldn't get a reaction out of him, which is exactly what she did to snap Izuku out of his disassociation episode. A glass shattered on the wall directly next to his head, shards sliced thought the side of his head and neck making him yelp as he snapped back to reality from the pain.

"Maybe you should listen to me, then this wouldn't happen!" Inko screamed as Izuku clutched his cheek as it bled. Izuku stared at her wide-eyed feeling warm blood pool in his hand, Inko continued to scream nonsense as Izuku dropped to clean up the glass on the floor only to make it worse as the blood on his hand smeared across the floor. Inko screamed for him to clean up the blood before storming out of the kitchen and to her room, leaving Izuku bleeding with tears pooling in his eyes.

After cleaning the floor Izuku walked to the bathroom and looked in the mirror, there were multiple deep jagged cuts on the cheek, neck and his ear, blood was pouring down his face onto the counter and his shirt. He grabbed an old rag from under the sink and wetted it with warm water, gently rubbing it across his skin to clean the blood. Izuku winced feeling glass shards he yet to notice in his skin get pulled by the fabric of the cloth. when he moved onto actually cleaning the wounds his had to bite his lip to keep him from crying out. After they were cleaned and there wasn't as much blood Izuku took a closer look at them, he needed stitches. There was no way these were going to heal with a few band aids and gauze pads. He sighed sitting on the floor, his wounds were still gushing blood and his mother sure as hell wasn't going to take him to the hospital.

Using his last resort he pulled out his phone and called the one person that would drop everything for him, (not that Izuku knew that.) "Hey Yagi, are you busy?"
