Meera's pov

Samrat” Raveen, Naira Athige's cousin called Appaji. Ignoring their conversation I walked past them but his next words caught my attention making me halt.

“Why does the Kumari have to cover her face with a mask?” He asks.

“It is to protect the crowned princess from evil eyes. However it's not compulsory and is their own choice.” Appaji explains calmy to which Raveen laughs. My brows thinned in confusion

“Uh, how ironic! What is the use of hiding her face when she shows off her tempting figure-” before he could finish his words,

Sachdev twisted Raveen's hands and locked him from behind. Sachdev points his dirk at his throat.

“A voice that doesn't know how to respect Kumari, doesn't deserve to exist either.” He says before slitting his throat.

I gasped at the sight before me and fisted my palm on my skirt.

Raveen drops to the ground, blood dripping over his body. Tears flowing down his cheek uncontrollably. What a shame, he can't even cry out for help.

“He will not receive any treatment and will rot in the dungeon till his last breath. Nothing otherwise will happen even if the Samraat or Kumari orders.” Sachdev declares and steps back gesturing to the guards to take him away.
