The adrenaline kept coursing through her body as she ran, huffing and heaving to get enough air as she sprinted through the dark, foggy forest. Daisy continued dodging the trees in her path, causing her legs to grow even weaker. She couldn't think or process anything, her mind was completely fuzzy with the fear of what was behind her. Every part of her felt numb, but she only had one instinct: to survive.
The rustling grew louder and more intense behind her, along with the ear wrecking whispers and groans of what seemed to be spiritual beings. But this whispering isn't just any whispering; it's the whispering of something evil, something of not this realm, something that could end her in an instant.
She knew she shouldn't have done it, but she couldn't control herself. Daisy was growing tired and weaker by the second, she could barely breath at this altitude. Her lungs wheeze and strain, her legs trembling and wobbly, her brain fuzzy and disoriented. So she did it, she looked back at 'what' was behind her... nothing.
Then - Thud! - a weak yelp leaves her lips as she trips on a rock in her path, descending down before her head makes contact with another rock. Dead, is what she had become, and the scene quite gruesome, to say the least. Her eyes and mouth were wide open as blood gushed from her head, her clothes smudged with dirt, mud, and moss, and cut up by thorns. Daisy's body twitched as she slowly died.
"Finally. Took long enough." A deep, male's voice was heard, yet no one was to be seen. "Let's bring her home." Then, an invisible force lifts her leg enough to start dragging Daisy away.
