After spending the entire day shopping for their new house, Meredith and Derek had just got back home. They hardly ever had time for anything because of work, so it was a wonderful change while they were getting used to their new life together. There were boxes all over the place, waiting to be unpacked, holding necessities for the home.
Derek carried a box of kitchen supplies into the living room, placing it on the coffee table. "I can't believe we finally have our own place," he said with a smile.
Meredith, holding a stack of plates, she replied, "I know, it's incredible. No more sharing a bathroom with three other roommates." She set the plates on the dining table and came over to hug him. "Our own bathroom, our own kitchen, our own everything."
Derek chuckled and hugged her back tightly. "And our own messes to clean up."
Meredith grinned, "Oh, we'll have plenty of those. But at least we can make them together." She gave him a quick kiss.
They spent the evening unpacking and arranging their new home, surrounded by the belongings that represented the beginning of their life together. They spent some quiet time together, admiring their attractive living room and the smell of recently painted walls and new furniture.
Meredith turned to Derek, a soft smile playing on her lips. "I think we're going to be really happy here," she said, her voice filled with hope and warmth.
Derek wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. "I know we will be," he whispered, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. "As long as we're together, we can get through anything."
