BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Luna's body shot up in bed as she gasped for air. Looking frantically around the room, her eyes finally land on the time.

"Shit!" She smack her alarm clock jumping out of the brown queen-size bed.

Work started at 10, and it was 9:45. Luna ran around her apartment hectically, trying to find her name tag.

She hadn't done laundry in a couple of days, so her black work shirt was dirty and wrinkled but there was NO time at all.

Luna yanked her pink tank top off of her tired body, throwing the shirt over her head.

She grabbed her black leggings as she fell to the floor with a bump.

"Fuck..." Luna muttered still trying to pull her pants up her legs as she wobbled all over the ground.

Once they were on she stood, pulling the ends up over her ankles.

She ran over to the mirror that came with the apartment, inspecting her outfit up-and-down.

"Wait!" She yelped, grabbing her boobs through her shirt.

Luna sighed heavily, running over to her drawer, pulling out a bra.

Starbucks was like five minutes away, but she was late yesterday and couldn't be late again today.

Luna pulled her shirt off, clipping the bra on as she pulled her shirt on, walking over to grab her purse.

Slamming the door behind her, she walked quickly to the stairs. It was too long a wait for the elevator.

Luna grabbed a taxi as soon as she exited the apartment complex.

New York was up and at em as usual.

Normally she would take the subway to work but she would have to walk to get to the subway and Luna didn't have that kind of time.

"Emily." Luna hollered as she lay a Mocha Frapuccino down on the counter.

A guy walked over to the counter instead, grabbing the drink. She shot him a confused expression.

"Oh! It's uh...for my girlfriend." He said shyly smiling at her.

"Oh! I...I know...I wasn't trying to..." She says awkwardly. He gives her an uncomfortable smile and scoots away.

Luna sighed, watching them walk out the door.

"Ugh!" She growled, laying her head against Kylie's shoulder. Kylie laughed lightly, patting her head.

"Rough day?" She asked, pouring some milk into the blender. Luna huffed, dragging her head back up.

"It really is..." Luna held her ponytail that hung out of a baseball cap, splitting it in half and pulling it tight.

"Luna, we need a tall passion tango." Dylan spoke, welcoming the next customer.

She grabbed the supplies needed, walking to an open station. She threw the ingredients in the blender, stirring them up.

Days have been going like this for Luna for a while now.

When she got home she usually heated up some Campbell's chicken noodle soup and received a phone call from her mother, telling her that she needs to get her life started, as if Luna hadn't already figured that out.

The last time she had a boyfriend was 7 months ago, his name was Derek and she dumped his ass.

Since then, her friends have been trying to hook her up on blind dates and it just hasn't been working out.

Luna's mother and sister are coming over Friday from Long Island, and she would have to say she was single again.

Her sister is engaged and a world traveler with her fiancé, James. For once, Luna wanted to tell her about something eventful that happened in her life, other than seeing a cute guy in Starbucks.

But tonight, Luna had nothing to do. She was probably going to stop by Barns n Nobel and look at some books. After the break up, she found herself at the book store frequently.

Tonight she was also closing up shop (double shift).

"Alright Luna! I'm heading out. I'll see you Thursday." Hannah said, before leaving the keys on the counter and walking out the door.

Luna sighed, pulling her apron off, folding it. How many more times would she have to do this?

Luna lay the apron on the shelf in the back room, grabbing her purse.

The counters were clean and everything was put away so she locked up and left.

It was still pretty crowded around the streets, but that's only because it was 7:30.

Luna originally moved to New York to start a writing career, which did not work out very well. She was still trying to get started.

She wrapped her scarf around her neck, trying to keep warm. It was only October but it was beginning to get chilly up there.

Luna walked to the curb, watching the city scurry before her blue eyes. A passing taxi stopped for her, as she held a hand up.

"Where to?" He asked, with a tooth pick sticking out of his mouth. Luna lay her purse beside her as she looked up, pushing her hair out of her face.

"Um, Barns n Nobel off of 18th." She says to him as she sees him nod through the review mirror, zooming away.
