BRITISH SMITH|24

Mi come to e conclusion say mi just bad lucking and that ago always be the case because why the fuck all a this a happen to me right now? Mommy dead, mi a get bun, e bwoy mi did like have pikini and I was embarrassed by the fact that all of this happened so openly that Amanie knew. At least him nuh know me did a get bun.

In the midst of my thoughts I could hear the lowest ping an iPhone makes when you get a notification.

Jayda/Dayone☀️😌❤️
All now yuh nuh tell mi bout e date inno

The notification flashed my screen and I paused thinking about what I could tell her. Oh no biggie I just went out with a man who has a baby mother who had two children for him and to top it all off he's a scammer and I had no idea about any of this the whole time. How mi fi tell ar all this? I made 101 bad decisions in the time period she's been in St. Ann, she should have been here.

I still haven't recovered from the conversation I had with Amanie either and it as well as all of the man problems I've had since I've gotten to Jamaica just rest pon mi head.

'Inna dat deh dress deh, any man mek yuh leave and nuh touch yuh ah play'

I was consumed by him entirely, this man made it so easy to have him in my head every second of every day.

Another ping.

Raqueem:
Wah happen the other night? Yuh just liff suh and nuh tell mi nothing

The realisation slapped me, I didn't tell him I was leaving nor did I text him after I left. I might not owe him anything but it was common decency especially since he texted me 10 times. It was hard to believe this man was the cheating type, he was so sincere in every situation in which he had to be. He held doors, kept his phone off around me and paid for things even when I offered to cover it.

I fiddled with my phone explaining to Jayda what happened in full detail, after which I took the spare time to respond to Raqueem telling him I felt sick due to the loss of my mom and had to leave abruptly.

He believed.

My hand was elbow deep in meat as I had to season the chicken I was gonna cook tonight. I craved alfredo and since I didn't get to order it on my so-called 'date' I was gonna make it myself. I inherited so many things from my mother and I was grateful for that even though I would very much rather her cooking, things were never going to be the same.

The door knocked and given the circumstances I couldn't move as fast as I'd like to but regardless I rushed to the door whilst fixing my loose sweats and cropped top just in case it was someone I didn't want to see me looking messy.
