Matthew 11:28 : Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Virginia had always been a quiet, hardworking single mother. She had two children, Paula, a 15-year-old daughter, and Oliver, her 16-year-old son. Virginia had faced her fair share of challenges in life, but her biggest source of struggle was the burden of being a single mother. Her children had two different fathers, and Virginia often felt the weight of societal judgment and shame due to her unmarried status.

Despite her difficulties, Virginia had always been a devoted and loving mother. She worked tirelessly to provide for Paula and Oliver, doing her best to give them a comfortable life. She worked as an assistant director, and while it provided for their basic needs, there was always a sense of emptiness that gnawed at her heart. Virginia longed for something more, something that would bring meaning and purpose to her life.

As she navigated through the daily grind of work and parenthood, Virginia had settled into a routine, a life of routine tasks and responsibilities. But a feeling of unfulfillment remained. She often wondered if there was more to life than the roles she played as a mother and an employee. It was in the midst of these thoughts that Virginia attended her local church, a place she had been attending sporadically but without much enthusiasm.

One Sunday, a guest preacher delivered a sermon that would change the course of Virginia's life. The preacher spoke passionately about God's love, forgiveness, and the transformative power of faith. Virginia sat in the pews, listening intently to the preacher's words, and she felt something awakening within her. It was as if a veil had been lifted, and for the first time in a long while, she felt a glimmer of hope.

The preacher's message spoke directly to Virginia's heart. He shared stories of individuals who had experienced incredible transformations in their lives through their faith in Jesus Christ. Virginia found herself drawn to the idea that she too could experience a profound change, not only in her circumstances but also in her own heart and soul.

As the congregation sang hymns and worshiped, Virginia closed her eyes and whispered a silent prayer. She asked for guidance, strength, and a sense of purpose. She asked for forgiveness for her past mistakes and for the strength to let go of the shame that had weighed her down for so long.

In that moment, Virginia felt a deep sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she had taken the first step on a new path, one filled with faith and hope. Little did she know that this moment would be the catalyst for a profound transformation that would affect not only her life but the lives of her children and those around her.
