"Alright, I need to go do groceries. I'll be back in thirty. I love you." Dr. Sunshine stopped writing and lifted his head up. He tilted his head to the side.
"Huh, where are you going?" He asked, standing up.
"I'm going to the store, I literally just told you." Eva said bluntly. Dr. Sunshine walked up to Eva, taking her hand in his.
"Don't leave," he pleaded.
"But I need to go get groceries.." She trailed off after she felt his grip on her tighten.
"Please." Her hand was turning red. She tried pulling away from him. He tightened his grip.
"S-stop, it hurts.." She said, her voice trembling.
"Why do you want to leave me?" He asked, tears trailing down his cheeks. Eva's face immediately softened. She used her free hand to gently caress Dr. Sunshine's face.
"Don't cry, please." She said softly. He pushed into his face into the palm of her hand. The grip on her other hand loosened, she used this as an opportunity to free herself from his grip.
"You may go, but if you are even one minute late, well, you'll see." He said, looking down at Eva. Her face went pale, she gulped before shakily giving Dr. Sunshine a nod.
He watched from the window as she walked on the sidewalk.
