Following the trail down to the serene lake below, I noticed the statue beginning to emit a soft, blue glow as we approached.

Me: "Is that statue glowing?" I questioned, turning to the others to confirm whether they saw it too.

Lumine: "I think so," she replied, squinting to get a better look as we drew nearer to the statue.

Paimon: "Paimon thinks she sees it glowing too," she chimed in, floating across the river and circling around the statue. "Hmm, it doesn't seem to be glowing anymore."

As we stood at the lake's edge, I mused to myself, 'How the hell am I going to get across this lake?' With a deep breath, I took a few steps back and then sprinted forward, attempting to leap across. I made it about halfway before splashing into the water with a disgruntled expression. Resurfacing, I sighed and decided to swim the rest of the way.

Lumine: "Well, I guess I'll just swim it too," she said before jumping in and swimming across.

As we approached the statue, I continued to squeeze water from my hair and attempted to shake off the excess drops.

Me: "I should've known I couldn't make that jump," I laughed at my own little mishap. I stretched my back as I observed the others.

Paimon: "Let's make an offering and see if the gods can tell us something. Whether the gods actually answer you is a different story, but you never know unless you try."

Lumine slowly approached the statue, and as she touched the golden surface that adorned it, the statue started to emit a soft green glow. I watched in amazement as an orb containing a mysterious sigil emerged and flowed down to Lumine, who absorbed it into herself.

She looked down at her hand as the winds swirled around her, their gentle presence dissipating.

Paimon: "Oooh, did you feel the elements of the world?"

Lumine: "Well, I do feel a power coursing through me."

Paimon: "As much as they wanted, not many people can handle power like this as easily as you."

Me: "So powers like these are rare in this world?"

Paimon: "Mhm, not everyone can acquire powers like this. You have to be very exceptional and very lucky to obtain them."

Lumine: "That doesn't sound very promising, Paimon."

Paimon: "It's a bit rude to say that about the powers the gods just granted you. Now, if we continue west, we'll arrive in Mondstadt, the city of freedom."

Me: "City of freedom, huh?"

Paimon: "Mondstadt is also known as the city of the wind, as they worship the god of Anemo. Since you gained powers from Anemo, maybe we should head there. We might find some clues." Paimon turned to me. "I think it's your turn to try the statue, Mr. Y/N."

Me: "Um, alright then." I agreed. I approached the statue and placed my hand on the golden plate, and suddenly, I could hear that celestial voice again.

Celestial: "So, how are things going with you, Y/N?"

Me: "You've got to be kidding me. Why didn't you just teleport me to the ground instead of making me fall like that?" I questioned, unaware that the girls couldn't hear the celestial, making it appear like I was talking to myself.

Celestial: "There's no fun if I just do that. Where's the theatrics in that?" she countered. "And you might want to keep it down, big guy. You're the only one who can hear me."

Instinctively, I turned around and saw the girls looking at me with puzzled expressions.

Me: "Just tell me what's my purpose here?"
