Scott, Stella and Kristie made their way together to their old school, walking through the empty, overgrown streets.

They walked up to the rusty gates of the school, looking at the tin sign hanging from it. Scott started pushing on the gate for it to open, and after successfully opening it, the three walked into the school zone. The atmosphere felt different; more dangerous for some reason.

They stopped at the bottom of the stairs, and looked at each other.

"Are you guys ready?" asked Scott.

"Never been readier." responded Kristie.

"Why do you always make up words?" Scott asks while walking up the stairs.

"I don't know man" Kristie answered him with a chuckle and followed behind him along with Stella.

The three walk up the stairs, and notice that the school doors are barricaded.

"Wait, why is it barricaded? I thought this was a safe zone."

"And it is... at least it's supposed to be." Scott responds to Stella.

Scott reaches for the barricades, then leans his head against the covered glass window to check for any noise. He then proceeds to look through the newspapers into the inside of the school.

"Do you think-"

Before she could finish her sentence, Stella and Kristie watched Scott ripping the papers and cardboard from the doors and windows.

"We have to go in, maybe they left supplies- oh fuck."

Scott exclaimed, looking past the now open parts of the barricade, seeing dead military on the ground.

"Alright, put your masks on, there's a lot of asbestos and crap in here. We also don't know if the virus is airborne."

They carefully reach for their bags and pull out their masks, putting them on. Then Scott easily pushes the door and opens it, and the three make their way inside.

They wander around the school, looking at all the bloody chairs and tables, the rotting food from the deads' last meals. It smelled foul; it was the worst scent they ever smelled. There were dead, decomposing bodies on the floor. Students, and some fresh bodies from the military.

There was one body that caught Stella's attention. It was a young student, a girl, and her wrist was slit open.

"Why were people commiting suicide?" asked Stella to her friends, crouching down next to the dead girl.

"I don't know. They thought it was the end, and didn't want to go out like that guy."

Scott pointed towards a wandering zombie; it moved with wobbling steps, leaning forward and twitching as it walked. It made weird noises, whispering gibberish. Its flesh was rotten and its mouth was hanging open.

The group looked at each other for a moment, and they began chatting. As the zombie wandered to the right, a noise was heard, and then, everything went silent. Suddenly, the zombie was thrown back to where it was, but this time it was dead. It laid on the floor, more lifeless than before.

A young woman appears from where the zombie was thrown; she was wearing a gas mask, just like the three friends were. She stands and looks at the zombie for a moment before looking at the group, and slowly, she begins walking towards them holding her gun up.

"Who are you? And why are you here?" Asked the young woman to the three friends.

"We're looking for supplies-"

"We're hungry." Exclaimed Scott and Kristie.

The woman got extremely close to them, still holding her gun up. Noises from the zombies can be heard in the distance.
