As soon as Cathy opened her eyes, she realized that she was floating in the air. But where? Her jaws fell wide open, her fingers trembled as she realized with a jolt that that the place where she was is none other than the restaurant. She remembered, as vividly as anyone possibly could. As if, it was only yesterday.
Hovering over the empty tables was not quite her style, but how could she even focus on these details? The flash of lightning tore the sky apart, as the dark windows were heavily beaten with raindrops tearing down as bullets. But how? She had sworn that she would never step in that part of the country, let alone the place.
The same night. Thoughts closed in one another as the stream of incidents caught up with her mind. The whole dark room was lighted with the only candle burning on the same table. The same two glasses lay either side of it, both the same situation as it was left, one untouched, the other, half-drunk..
"Hello", a voice said pleasantly behind her.
Cathy revolved around but remained rooted to the spot. The sight that met her eyes was bad enough for her, enough bad. This just had to be a nightmare.
Ring...Ring.....Ring.......
Cathy woke up with a start. Sweat had gathered on her forehead and heart was beating so loud that she could swear she could hear it. She suddenly realized that her telephone was ringing. A white, outstretched hand reached out for it in the darkness. Putting aside her emotions, she answered it and forced a " Hello" from her mouth.
Just a moment and back she sprang, white pale and horrified. The whole night the visions haunted her...... as she was reminded of what she saw.
