In the relentless progression of days, the torment inflicted upon Lisa reached new heights. The entire campus was well aware of her feelings for Holden, a knowledge that fueled hushed whispers and muffled laughter, all behind her back. The eyes of her peers became unbearable, and she could no longer meet anyone's gaze. In her heart, she believed that falling in love with someone who remained oblivious to her emotions had been her gravest mistake. Tears welled up in her eyes, hidden behind a veil of inner turmoil.

Friend 1 (Jason): "Alex, seriously, why did you intervene like that? You've never done anything like it before."

Friend 2 (Tom): "Yeah, did you suddenly develop a soft spot for Lisa or something? It's kind of funny, to be honest."

Alex's best friend (Mark): "Come on, guys, enough. Let's drop the subject. Maybe Alex just felt it was the right thing to do."

As Alex's friends continued to tease and question his actions, Alex, who had been maintaining his silence, finally spoke up, his tone firm, "It's none of your business."

With those words, he left the table, leaving his friends perplexed and somewhat baffled by the sudden change in his behavior.

Jason, still puzzled, muttered, "What's gotten into him?"

Tom, raising an eyebrow, added, "Yeah, this is really unlike him."

Mark, the one who understood Alex the best, sighed and said, "I'm sure he has his reasons. Let's not push it for now."

As Alex walked away from the table, leaving his friends in a state of bewilderment, a question hung in the air:

"Will it be the ending of Lisa being teased, or is this just the beginning of a new chapter in their college journey?"
