"We should start heading back, it's getting pretty late." Draco whispered, still staring up at the stars.
"I want to stay here with you as long as possible." Harry mumbled, the veritaserum still had a while before leaving their systems, and the firewhiskey wasn't exactly helping their filters either.
"I know, me too." Draco moved closer and rested their foreheads together, "But we shouldn't be out past curfew, it's not worth it to get in trouble right before break."
"You're worth it. I'd rather spend the night with you and get in trouble than walk away." Harry blurted out, then sighed, "Veritaserum, sorry. I know, we should get back."
They stood, gathering their things, Ron and Blaise had taken their brooms from them already, so there wasn't much to carry.
"You know, you're kinda sweet when you're forced to tell the truth." Draco smiled. Harry rolled his eyes,
"Don't make me regret agreeing to this." He laughed, "Come on, let me walk you to your common room." Harry said, holding open the door to the stairwell.
"Trying to make it the full date experience then? Gonna drop me off and kiss me goodnight too?" He joked. Harry smiled slightly,
"Maybe I will."
They walked out into the corridor, there were still some groups of students milling about, most of them stopped and watched them pass.
"Do you think they suspect something?" Harry asked quietly when they made it to an empty hall. Draco shook his head,
"Nothing more than us playing quidditch together, though I think that'll be enough of a rumor by itself."
Harry sighed and shook his head, "I don't see the big deal with us hanging out now, nobody cares when I hang out with Luna or Cho and they're from a different house."
"You're missing the point here, they're not children of death eaters." Draco gave a harsh laugh, "Nobody cares if you hang out with Ravenclaws, it's the Slytherins they hate..." He looked away before he added, "It's me they hate."
Harry wanted to comfort him, to tell him they don't hate him, but the veritaserum wouldn't let him get the words out.
"I don't hate you." He carefully laced their fingers together, "And I don't care, you're worth anything they can throw at us." He squeezed his hand lightly, "This means more to me than some stupid reputation, and I mean that."
Draco blushed and stared down at their shoes while they walked, "Thanks." He whispered.
Draco stopped in front of a section of the stone wall in the Slytherin Dungeons,
"Well-" He cleared his throat, "This is my stop."
Harry nodded, "I guess so."
There was a long beat of silence, Harry hated the thought of letting go of Draco's hand. Draco turned and opened the secret passage. He paused before stepping through to look back,
"Thank you for everything these last few days. It's meant a lot to me."
"Me too." Harry smiled.
Draco sighed and pulled him into a hug, holding him tight for a long time. He pulled back slightly, his breath catching at their closeness,
"You're eyes are the most beautiful color I think I've ever seen." Harry repeated. Draco's gaze dropped down to his lips,
"This veritaserum thing is dangerous for us." He whispered, "There are far too many thoughts in my head that you shouldn't hear."
