1. i've got a bad idea

She barely lifted her eyes from the email she was drafting as she heard someone knocking on the door of her hotel room. "It's unlocked, come in!"

The woman did, however, raise her eyebrows when she saw a tall figure enter the room and nearly trip over her suitcase where it lay at the foot of the bed. Andrew was technically her boss, so he rarely came to the hotel rooms she shared with various crewmembers, but they were almost friends (if it weren't for that night in February). "Y'know, I'm not supposed to be working this late," she said.

"It's important."

She sighed. They may have been friendly, but he was still technically her boss, so she deferred with a low nod.

"It's about Jo."

"If you want me to get her to delete that TikTok, it's too late, and you did OK it yesterday, so don't even try." He was her boss, but she spent most of her time telling him what to do.

"No. It's just–I think she was flirting with me."

"And?" It wasn't her job to monitor his personal life, but if he was sleeping with the tour opener, she may have to pass it on to his publicist, Emily, her actual boss. It wasn't exactly Emily's job either, but publicists like to know these kinds of things.

"I may have told her I'm in a relationship."

"And?" She tried to hide her surprise.

"I happen to not be in a relationship."

Oh. "Okay, well it's a little 2000s, but I'm sure Erica can get an influencer to tag along to a few shows and say hi to Jo. It'll have to be someone you already follow on Instagram, and of course there'll be a few NDAs, but it shou–"

"I may have told her we're in a relationship."

"I think she knows that Emily's married, Andrew."

"No, me and you, Lizzie." She had still been halfheartedly rereading her email as they spoke, but now she finally looked into his eyes. He looked nervous, and annoyed by her apparent lack of urgency. Liz was caught somewhere between laughing and hyperventilating. She settled for the latter.
