The blare of the alarm clock shattered the silence of Gift's room, signaling the dawn of a new chapter in his life. With a grin stretching across his face, he welcomed the day with eager anticipation, ready to embrace the challenges and adventures that awaited him at college. After completing his morning routine—showering, brushing his teeth, and hastily devouring a piece of toast—Gift paused to reflect on his journey thus far. As he slipped on his shoes and prepared to depart, he couldn't help but marvel at the twists and turns that had led him to this moment.
"My name is Gift," he murmured to himself, his voice tinged with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. "A name bestowed upon me by my parents, who believed me to be a blessing from above."
For years, Gift had lived a life veiled behind a facade of thick glasses, concealing his true beauty beneath layers of insecurity. Yet, despite his efforts to blend into the background, there was one passion that ignited his soul like nothing else—dance.
With a flicker of determination in his eyes, Gift set out for college, his heart pulsating with the promise of new beginnings and endless possibilities.
As he crossed the threshold into the bustling campus, Gift was greeted by a sea of unfamiliar faces, each one brimming with anticipation and excitement. Amidst the throng of students, he spotted a familiar figure—a senior from his prospective faculty.
"Nong, what's your name and which faculty are you from?" the senior inquired with a warm smile, extending a hand in greeting.
"I'm Gift, from the Dentistry faculty," he replied, returning the smile with equal enthusiasm."Ah, a fellow dental student! Welcome to the fold, Gift. I'm Teena, your senior from the second year," the senior introduced herself, her eyes twinkling with camaraderie. "Here's your name tag—wear it proudly, and let's make this orientation one to remember."
With the name tag dangling from his neck, Gift felt a sense of belonging wash over him—a feeling he hadn't experienced in years. He glanced around the courtyard, his gaze lingering on the various faculty groups gathered for the orientation.
"P'Teena, do you happen to know if there's a dance club on campus?" Gift blurted out, unable to contain his excitement.
Teena's expression faltered for a moment before she replied, "Well, there used to be one, but I'm not sure if it's still active. You might want to check with the student council for more information."
Undeterred by the uncertainty, Gift thanked Teena and made a mental note to investigate further. As he made his way to the designated gathering spot, his thoughts drifted to Pie, his childhood friend and fellow dancer.
"Tutu..." a voice called out, snapping Gift out of his reverie. He turned to find Pie standing before him, a wide grin spreading across his face.
"Ai Pie! What are you doing here?" Gift exclaimed, his eyes alight with joy at the unexpected reunion.
With Pie by his side, Gift felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the friendships that had shaped his journey thus far. Little did he know, their bond would soon be tested as they embarked on a quest to revive their shared passion for dance and carve out a place for themselves in the bustling tapestry of college life.
