"Lucina?" A small voice said in the darkness

Nothing but the rain pounding on the window answered.

"Luce?" The tiny child tried again, clambering onto the large four-poster bed. A flash illuminated the room for a moment, and he clenched his eyes shut, covering his ears. Moments later, the loud rumble of thunder reached him.

"Lucina!" He whispered, shaking the mound buried by blankets.

"Mmmh..." His older sister groaned, forcing one eye open. "Morgan? Go back to sleep..."

"I can't"

"Why not? Its just a storm."

"I had a bad dream." He replied, voice wavering. "Can I stay with you for a while?"

Lucina rolled over so she was facing her younger brother, opening both eyes.

"I guess..." She trailed off, rubbing her eyes. "What was your dream about?"

Morgan's eyes widened, and he firmly shook his head. He was afraid that if he said it aloud, it would come true. "I-I-I don't wanna..."

"Its okay, Morgs." His sister said kindly, shifting over in her bed. She pulled the covers back, inviting the tiny boy to share the warmth provided.

Crawling beside her, he gave out a rather loud cry when another clap of thunder sounded above them.

"It can't hurt you, Morgs."

"Its not me I'm scared about..."

Lucina lapsed into silence, wondering the exact same thing as the tiny child beside her.

Silence fell between them, interrupted only by the rain and the occasional rumble overhead.

"Luce?" Morgan said. Lucina rolled over so she was facing her brother, his eyes bright in the light provided by the crack in the curtains, brand of the exalt glowing in his right eye, opposite Lucina's own, in her left.

"Yeah?"

"Can you sing that lullaby Mum sings? The one about stormy nights?"

"I don't think..." She trailed off, unsure.

"Please, sis?"

"Okay... I'll try...

"Little child, be not afraid

The rain pounds harsh against the glass..."

She winced at her own voice. She hadn't exactly inherited her mother's singing voice. But for Morgan's sake, she continued.

"Like an unwanted stranger,

There is no danger

I'm here tonight

Little child, be not afraid

Though thunder explodes

And lightning flash

Illuminates your tearstained face

I'm here tonight"

Her voice was wavering slightly, trying to ignore the lyrics as she sung them. She didn't want to think about it. Never.

"And someday you'll know

That nature is so

The same rain that draws you near me

Falls on rivers and land

On forests and sand

Make the beautiful world that you see
