The sound of moving steps pulls me out of my reverie, but it isn't just one; there are two. Confused, I leave the room and descend the stairs.
There, I see him, the love of my life, standing beside someone, his hands on the other person's shoulders.
He is smiling the same smile he used to give me, showing the same love he once had for me to another person.
I just ignore both of them and start walking toward my room but am startled by Senaan's voice, "Hey." I don't have any other choice but to greet back, "Hello," I say.
Then he introduces me to his new so-called boyfriend. My heart feels a stab, but I endure and give them a smile before leaving for my room.
The next day, I wake up with a heaviness in my chest that refuses to dissipate. The events of the previous evening replay in my mind, each detail etched into my consciousness like a painful reminder of what once was.
I drag myself out of bed, trying to shake off the lingering sense of betrayal that lingers within me. As I make my way downstairs, the atmosphere in the house feels stifling, suffocating almost, as if the walls themselves are privy to my anguish.
The aroma of fresh coffee teases my senses, a feeble attempt to offer solace in the midst of turmoil. Gathering my strength, I pour myself a cup and make my way to the solitary comfort of the garden, seeking solace in the quiet sanctuary of nature.
