"I don't fucking care if you have time! We don't want him anymore. He's nothing but trouble, keep him!"

"Liz, Andrew, he's not a pet, you can't just dump him here just because you want to! We're talking about your son for God's sake!"

Ashton woke up to the yelling of his aunt, uncle and dad. He looked at his alarm clock; it was only 4 pm on a friday night.  What the hell is going on?

"Too bad, we're leaving, bye!"

The 16 year old Ashton had no idea what just happened. He got curious and decided to go downstairs. What were they yelling about? What Ashton saw when he got downstairs broke his heart: his favourite cousin Luke was standing in the middle of the livingroom, tears streaming down his face and sobs leaving his mouth. 

"Luke!" the boy ran towards his cousin and wrapped his arms around the sobbing boy. Luke's tears wet Ashton's shirt as Ashton was rubbing his hand on his back, trying to comfort him. 

"What happened?", Ashton asked his dad, who was still standing near the front door, looking perplexed. "They just... they just dumped him, Ash," his dad replied with a sad and dissapointed look in his eyes, "Why don't you make a bed for him, I'll go talk to him with some hot chocolate, okay?" Ashton released his cousin from his grip. "I'm gonna make you a bed okay, Lukey?" Luke nodded and wiped his nose with his sleeve as Ashton walked upstairs.

"Hi uncle Dean," Luke said with a sad smile, "long time no see." Dean wrapped his arms around the young boy's shoulders and led him to the couch. 

"You're gonna be okay Luke, I promise. You can stay here for as long as needed..." probably a long time, Dean realised, "you don't ever have to worry about us kicking you out." Luke looked up to his uncle, who was looking at him with sincere eyes and just like Luke, a sad smile, and softly said: "Thank you"

The next morning, Luke, Ashton and Dean were sat around the breakfast table. Ashton's mom, Luke's aunt, wasn't there, since she dissapeared from the picture a long time ago. Ashton and his dad had known Luke and his own parents didn't go along very well, but they never knew it was this bad. 

Ashton's dad decided it was best for Luke to stay here for the rest of his high school carreer, if needed longer, because there was no way in hell he was sending Luke back. Even if he did want to send Luke back, he couldn't, since his parent's had taken a plane to god knows where to do god knows what.

Luke would be going to the same high school as Ashton and he was allowed to decorate the guest room ("No Luke, don't call it that, it's YOUR room now") however he wanted.  

After years of neglection Luke was happy to be living with two wonderful people who genuinly cared about him...

A/N Hey guys this is my first story :D. So uhm to make things clear: in this story Dean Irwin is Ashton's father, he doesn't have a mum, and Dean is Liz' older brother. Luke is an only child and so is Ashton. Sorry if my English is too bad, it's not my first language.

Soooo... What do you guys think? Any tips? Criticism is welcome.
