"Congratulations class of 2015! We made it!" Our valedictorian, Becky shouted as we all tossed our caps up in the air. I finally graduated high school. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA, which is good enough for me. I got accepted into many colleges, but I am taking a year off first and then deciding where I'm going to go and what I'm going to do with my life.

I felt a bunch of warm arms embrace me as the crowd got separated with taking pictures and embracing loved ones. I hugged my parents and brother back as my aunt took millions of pictures.

"Oh, I'm so proud of you Caroline. I love you so much!" my mother said as she began to cry. My father pulled her away and gave me another quick hug.

"I'm proud too, but let me get this nutcase home before she tries anything else. Are you going to the graduation party that Denise is hosting?" he asked me. I shook my head yes, then went over to my brother, James.

"Wow, my baby sister finally graduated." He said, ruffling with a smirk.

"Shut up, five years is nothing. And I'm not a baby" I said, fixing my hair. After we talked for a bit, I went off with my friends to take more pictures, and then we headed to Denise's house to change for the graduation party.

I changed out of my white simple dress to a red dress that came up to my knees with no sleeves. I put on black flats, since I didn't want to embarrass myself by even attempting to wear heels. I would probably fall and break something.

We all went downstairs when we heard the doorbell ring. The party had just started and I was kind of excited. I mean, I wasn't antisocial or anything during high school, but I always hung out with the same group of people and stuck with them.

In just a half hour, almost every graduate showed up. Everyone was enjoying themselves but partying wasn't my forte, so I stood alone, in my corner, talking to someone every once in a while.

The doorbell rang again, and when I opened the door this time, I saw Alexander Harris and his group of friends. I had always seen him around, but only spoke to him occasionally.

Okay, maybe only when I was handing out flyers, but it's the thought that counts. His friends tumbled in, but he just waited outside.

"Aren't you going to come in?" I questioned. He raised an eyebrow at me and stepped into the house. I quickly shut the door.

"Hi, I'm Alex" He stuck out his hand.

"I know. I mean- uh, my name is Caroline." I said, turning bright red. He just chuckled.

"Okay, well, enjoy the party!" I said. I was about to leave when a hand wrapped around my wrist, pulling me back.

"Well, aren't you going to keep me company?" he asked.

I froze, with my mouth hanging open. I couldn't even form my words. When I thought that I finally got it together, I managed a small 'okay', but could not keep myself from blushing like a school girl.

Oh, come on! It's not like I've never talked to a guy before, I should not be this nervous. I took a deep breath and finally gave him a confident sure. We walked towards the corner I was at before, then I turned to him.

"Well, I am the most boring person at this whole party. This corner has been occupied by me for the last hour or so." I say sheepishly. It's kind of embarrassing that I do this, but I just can't find it in myself to go and do what everyone else is doing.

"I take it that you're not much of a party girl. Am I right?" He grins at me.

"Yup. So you can find a new companion if you want, I'm no match for everyone else here." I said. He just grins at me wider.
