A mix of party music and echoes of laughter was heard all throughout the estate, Ariana overwhelmed with excitement and warmth as she chats with her friends. Everyone had sprawled out, those eating in the kitchen area, those who stayed in the living room to chat, while others played mario party on the nintendo switch.

Glancing around the room, everything seemed to be running smoothly, I watched as Ariana chatted with Liz and their mutual friend Zach.

I stepped outside for a moment, walking over to Y/n's rental. I reached out to Y/n weeks in advance to ensure they could come. Luckily, their number hadn't changed over the years but I hadn't kept up with them since they were with Ariana.

Stepping out the car, I see a somewhat tall figure, wearing an all black outfit, now facing me. Y/n's features remained the same, maturity etched across their face, a subtle lightness framing their hair, a visual journey echoing the years gone by.

I reach out, pulling them into a hug, now inhaling their cologne. "It's so nice to see you again, Y/n."

"It's great to see you again, Vic." They say while pulling away from me, a warm yet awkward smile now being visible. "Again, are you sure this is okay? I don't want to ruin the party."

"Oh please the party wasn't gonna start till you walked in." I sass, earning a chuckle from their side. "She's gonna love it, Y/n/n. If you want, you can settle in the Patio and I'll go get you a drink to calm your nerves, okay?" I reassure them, welcoming them inside. Before entering I made sure that Ariana was either looking away or occupied in her conversation before sneaking Y/n out to the patio.

"You wait right here, and I'll be right back. Is there anything specific you want?"

"You guys have corona?" I gag in response.

"I forgot you're one of those. A corona it is, I shall return." I leave them, quickly running off into the kitchen, seeing Courtney and Brian.

"Perfect! Grab a truly and open a corona for me. Y/n is out in the patio, now. I think I'm more nervous than they are." I say out of breath, watching as Brian opens the beer bottle.

"You snuck them in without Ariana noticing?" Courtney asks stunned. "Court, I think you forget that our italian midget is blind. Even if she did see her, she probably wouldn't be able to see who it was." Brian jokes, handing me both drinks.

"Chill out, you stress too much and hopefully that truly will loosen you up. Everything is gonna go just fine, what's the worse that could happen?"

Watching Victoria leave, I step out into the patio, leaning onto the railing, just admiring the mountain view under the dark, hearing the muffled music coming from the inside.

So she finally made it out here, I thought while I look out the dark starry colorado sky. The place she now stays in is just as beautiful as the view. I couldn't help but smile at her accomplishment. Back then, she used to tell me how bad she wanted to live here. Guess her dream finally came true.

As nervous as I was for being here, I just felt like I needed to. Whether that was for getting closure or just wanting to see her again after all this time.

I barely heard the sliding door opening and closing behind me from being so deep in thought and from the music. Turning around, assuming it was Victoria back with our drinks, I come face to face with the woman of the hour.
