Chapter 9. [Love Signals]

" are you fine dear ? " an old man asked softly with a smile .

I didn't know who this was but since the guards already addressed him as king i should too, i guess.

" cough cough "

The king coughed violently like he has tuberculosis .

In panic i rush to give him water from a jug by the bed stand .

" oh my God, grandpa why did you come here, you're seriously ill " i said with worry as he gulped the water .

" I heard you drown dear so i came to check up on you " he said dropping the cup .

" i ... i drowned ?" i asked in shock .

" yes Hye-in don't you remember , are you alright ?" he asked again.

" wait i .. no, no she drowned too ? and i did too ? what does this mean ?"

"what is happening to me ?" i mutter in confusion as i felt a liquid trickling down my nose .

" Hye-in " the king said shakily with widened eyes.

" Grandpa "

" Blood , Hye-in " he said getting up .

The door to my chamber opened up followed my the greetings of the guards outside since only the king and i were in.

" Hye-in " Hae-in ran to me dragging me by the arm to the bath .

" i haven't had this in a long time ,nose bleed " i said rubbing it off .

"sit down " he instructed and i did .

He dipped a royal handkerchief in a bowl of warm water cleaning off my nose .

" you should really take care of yourself Hye-in what if i'm not around " he said wriggling the cloth.

He sounds caring but not much visible in his voice, he doesn't even smile .

" the king... i.. i didn't " he muttered and rushed out .

" sorry your highness, i almost forgot you were here " i hear Hae-in say.

" i was about leaving, no worries Hae-in she needed attention more than i do " I hear the king laugh and silence follows .

" want to eat at the dining or here " Hae-in asked tucking his head in the bath.

" why do you always put a straight face everytime, to be honest, you look so boring and interesting at the same time just because you're handsome " i said with teasing smiles.

" even handsome than my boyfriend " i added.

" boyfriend ?" he cocks his brow .

" uh no no "

I remembered i refered my boyfriend as Kain but i can't destroy these people bonds with my nonsense blabbering .

" i meant my past lover " i laughed but he did not.

Instead he walked closer to where i sat and bent lower.

" I know I'm more handsome than he is and you sure forgotten about my smile too Hye-in, at the lake" he sighed carrying me in his arms .

" maybe but I'd love to see it again maybe you'd even be ugly ... yuck" i made a funny face.

He chuckled and dropped me on the large bed .

" gosh I'm not trying to compare him with Kain but this human in front of me is strangely attractive " i smiled .

But i never smile or feel free without Kain .
