I deeply regretted the choice I made.

I despised having parents who had a strong affection for the sea.

You may wonder why? Well, the reason is that I easily become seasick.

However, that wasn't the sole reason. One of my fathers had been trampled by a horse, and it was a tragic sight to witness. He wasn't the strongest man in England; he was an old veteran who had lost his eyesight.

I cherished him dearly, and it was painful to see him injured.

My other father, Charlie, believed that I should have moved on.

Considering he is an absolute idiot, his perspective didn't surprise me.

At the age of forty-seven, I should have the autonomy to make my own decisions.

A man known as 'Long John Silver' (who acted like an uncle to me) brought us to our current location, the S.S Hispaniola.

The name of the ship appeared rather nonsensical to me. However, I have a reputation for being difficult to please, as my father often mentions.

"Raven?" I was awakened from my thoughts by a melodious voice.

I turned around to find Alan, my significant other.

"Hello, my dear," I greeted with a smile, embracing my beloved.

"Hello, Raven," he giggled, returning my embrace. "Silver wants to speak with you."

"Oh?" I responded, feeling nervous about what this man possibly wanted.

"He instructed me to inform you," Alan sighed. "I understand that being at sea makes you miserable, Raven. But if you just endure a little longer, we could become quite wealthy. If you experience seasickness, I will take care of you. Do we have a deal?"

I smiled.

"Of course, my dear."

He reciprocated my smile.

"Thank you, my love," Alan happily sighed, planting a kiss on my cheek.

He walked away, leaving me with my overwhelming thoughts.

I felt nervous yet exhilarated.

Silver was like an uncle to me.

I looked around until I discovered that he was standing directly behind me, smirking as usual.

"How's my little bird?" he chuckled.

"Alright, I suppose," I sighed.

"You don't seem alright. What's troubling you, Raven?"

"I easily get seasick. You know that, Silver."

"Lad, you have sailed across most of the seven seas, and you're still a weakling? I thought you were my nephew!"

"Listen, I..."

"I was joking!" he laughed. "You have worked hard, lad!"

"Don't call me lad... We have a three-year age difference."

Silver's smirk transformed into slight embarrassment.

"Oh, yes."

"You see? Now, I'm going to visit my father. How did he even manage to survive that?" I sighed.

"Why don't you ask him?" Silver shrugged.

I rolled my eyes and descended the stairs.

I was overflowing with excitement to see my father.
